More bike racks for TTC bus routes

Bike Month kicks off in the City of Toronto on Monday, May 25 with the official launch to take place at Nathan Phillips Square at Toronto City Hall.

The TTC will mark the start of Bike Month by adding 18 additional bus routes featuring bike rack equipped buses. This now brings the total number of bike friendly bus routes to 89, which is more than 50 per cent of all bus routes.  All routes will feature bike racks by 2012.

TTC Chair Adam Giambrone will be available to demonstrate how to place a bicycle on the bus bike rack, following the opening ceremony, at approximately 9:15 a.m.

Bicycles are permitted on subway trains, except during the morning and afternoon rush hour periods.
