Original art sought for TTC Metropass

The Toronto Transit Commission has issued a Request for Expressions of Interest (RFI) to organizations interested in having original art featured on monthly Metropasses. In July, the TTC implemented new security features to its Metropass by adding a hologram and validation sticker. Adding original art will enhance the Metropass design, but also make counterfeiting more difficult.

The TTC will be accepting expressions of interest until September 11, 2009. Once it determines the level of interest for supplying art to the Metropass, a Request for Proposal will be issued. Metropass customers could begin seeing original art on their pass next spring.
