TTC Streetcars Need a Break From Vehicle Drivers

The Toronto Transit Commission will be taking action to tow vehicles parked on TTC streetcar tracks.

The snow banks along many streetcar routes can impinge on the parking lanes. In too many cases, automobile drivers are parking on the outside of the snow banks, leaving their vehicles blocking streetcar tracks.

During the recent storm, streetcar operation was severally impacted by cars that blocked streetcar tracks. TTC streetcar riders were delayed as streetcars were held up due to careless parking.

The TTC is working with City of Toronto Parking Enforcement Officers, and vehicles that impede the operation of streetcars will be tagged and towed away.

The TTC is appealing to car drivers to park carefully. Give the streetcar rider a break!
