TTC Kennedy Station Update

Work continues underground this afternoon to fully restore subway service on the TTC's Bloor-Danforth line between Warden and Kennedy Stations following this morning's incident in which a subway car left the track.

Earlier today, 5 of the 6 cars of the subway train were returned to Greenwood Yard. The car that left the rails will be removed from the scene of the incident and placed in the tail track at Kennedy Station. The car will be returned to Greenwood Yard early tomorrow morning, after regular service closes.

Work crews are repairing a section of the power rail, running rail, a track switch and some signal equipment. The cause of the incident is still under investigation.

The TTC will issue a news release either late this evening or early tomorrow to update the public on when full service will be restored.
