Reporting an elevator or escalator outage

How to let TTC know if an elevator or escalator is down at a subway station.

If you notice an elevator or escalator is not working and it does not appear under service advisories or service alerts, here’s how you can let us know about it!

  1. Contact Customer Service by telephone at 416-393-3030, (daily 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Closed statutory holidays.) Press option 6 for a Customer Service Representative.


  2. Complete a Service Complaint Form. It is important to include the date, time, as well as the location (name of the station and location where the elevator or escalator is located).

When completing the online form, select “Other equipment complaint” in the “Type of incident” drop down menu.

If you select another incident type but mention an elevator or escalator outage, we’ll make sure it gets looked at!

If you would like to check the status of your file, please call 416-393-3030 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. You will need your web reference number as well as your CSC number that was provided when you submitted your feedback.
