Broadview Avenue between Queen Street East and Dundas Street East - essential rail and concrete repairs

Effective August 10, 2026

What we are doing and why

Starting as early as Monday, August 10, 2026, TTC will be conducting various essential rail and concrete repairs on Broadview Avenue between Queen Street East and Dundas Street East. This work is part of TTC’s preventative maintenance program to ensure safe and reliable streetcar operations.

Works hours and timeline

  • Crews will establish work zones on Monday, August 10 and will work around-the-clock to ensure quality installation of new rail and concrete. Excavation activities and concrete breaking will be carried out at various times during the day.
  • Work activities will include concrete saw-cutting, concrete breaking/removal, rail replacement, and placement of new concrete. Overnight work by TTC may consist of general site activities and welding/grinding.
  • Noise and lights from construction activities should be expected.
  • Work is expected to be completed and lanes re-opened by end of week, pending weather.

Motorist, cyclist, and pedestrian impacts

  • All work will take place within the streetcar allowance (centre lane) on Broadview Avenue.
  • To safely maintain traffic in the curb lanes, some street parking will be temporarily restricted in the immediate area of the work zones.
  • The location of the work zones may inhibit some left turns for vehicles.
  • These road restrictions will be cleared once all work is completed.
  • Pedestrian access maintained.

TTC Service – August 10 to 14, 2026

  • 504B/304 King streetcars will divert both ways via Parliament Street and Dundas Street.
  • 504B/304 King replacement buses will operate in place of the streetcar between King/Parliament and Broadview Station.

Thank you for your patience as we work to improve transit infrastructure in Toronto.
