Revised service on a portion of 506/306 Carlton route
Effective November 2, changes were made to the 506/306 Carlton routing now that streetcar track replacement and other infrastructure improvements were completed at the intersection of Carlton and Church streets.
TTC will continue to suspend service on the 506/306 Carlton route between Ossington Avenue and Bay Street. This suspension provides more reliable and effective replacement service for customers travelling to and from destinations near College Street in a more structured way during several construction projects in this area. These projects include: streetcar track replacement, cycling and pedestrian infrastructure upgrades, transit stop improvements, hydro utility repairs and streetscape improvements.
As a result, the following service adjustments are in place as of 5 a.m. November 2 until late 2022:
- 506 Carlton streetcar service that was previously suspended on College and Carlton streets between Bay and Parliament streets will be restored.
- 506 Carlton streetcars are suspended on College Street between Ossington Avenue and Bay Street. Service is diverting both ways via Ossington Avenue, Dundas Street West and Bay Street. 306 Carlton overnight replacement buses will operate on the same routing.
- 506C Carlton replacement buses will operate between Ossington Station and Castle Frank Station via Ossington Avenue, Harbord Street, Hoskin Avenue, Queen's Park, University Avenue, Gerrard Street and Parliament Street.
- Customers can board 506 Carlton streetcars at College Station, 505 Dundas or 506 Carlton streetcars at St Patrick Station or a 506C Carlton replacement bus at Queen's Park Station.
Frequent alternative service is also operating on the following routes: Line 1, 63 Ossington, 510 Spadina and 511 Bathurst.
Note: construction plans and schedules are subject to change
