509 Harbourfront / Queens Quay - overhead upgrades

What we are doing and why

The final phase of overhead upgrades has been completed. This work, focused on Fleet Street, west of Bathurst Street to Fleet Loop, began on November 24, 2024. These upgrades were essential to ensuring the safety and reliability of our streetcar network along the Waterfront.

We are pleased to announce that streetcar service resumed on Monday, January 20, 2025, following the completion of this work.

As a result, 509 Harbourfront streetcars now operate between Union Station and Exhibition Loop, while 511 Bathurst streetcars now operate between Bathurst Station and Exhibition Loop.

Service Adjustment Details

509 Harbourfront streetcar:

Effective January 20, 2025: 509 Harbourfront streetcars operate between Union Station and Exhibition Loop.

510 Spadina streetcar:

Effective January 5, 2024:

• 510B Spadina buses: will resume operating between Spadina Station and Queens Quay West, looping via Lake Shore Boulevard West and Dan Leckie Way. *(terminating within Queens Quay Loop)
• 510C Spadina buses to King Street West has been removed.
• 510D Spadina buses to Exhibition Loop has been removed.

Service on 310 Spadina will not change.

511 Bathurst streetcar:

Effective January 20, 2025:

• 511 Bathurst streetcar: Operates between Bathurst Station and Exhibition Loop. 

• 511B Bathurst bus: Replacement bus service has been removed.

Work activities and locations

All overhead work was conducted along the 509 Harbourfront and 511 Bathurst streetcar right-of-way, including: 

• The final phase of overhead upgrades along Fleet Street, west of Bathurst Street towards Strachan Avenue.
