Weekend Lane Restrictions on Jane Street north of Steeles Avenue West Begin Friday, September 26, 2014

September 24, 2014

Weekend lane restrictions on Jane Street north of Steeles Avenue West will begin on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. for sewer connection work. Weekend construction will take place on Fridays beginning at 7:00 p.m. and finishing by 7:00 a.m. on Monday mornings. Construction work is scheduled every weekend from Friday, September 26, 2014 until Monday, October 13, 2014. During the work, there will be construction related noise from trucks and equipment. One lane will always remain open in both directions on Jane Street during the work. The lane restrictions will not affect the southbound turning lanes on Jane Street at Steeles Avenue West.

Please note that these dates are subject to change due to inclement weather.

Work Hours

The City of Vaughan has approved a noise by-law amendment which allows the contractor to perform overnight and weekend work when required to minimize long term disruption and to keep the project on schedule.

Pedestrian Access

A portion of the sidewalk on the east side of Jane Street north of Steeles Avenue West will be closed to accommodate construction. A temporary path will be provided.

Speed Limit on Jane Street north of Steeles Avenue West

Please be advised that the speed limit is reduced to 50 kilometres an hour on Jane Street north of Steeles Avenue West to the CN Bridge.
