Early Start Concrete Pour for Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station

September 26, 2013

An early start concrete pour is scheduled for Saturday, September 28, 2013 beginning at approximately 6:00 a.m. and continuing until approximately 6:00 p.m. at the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Subway Station on the Toromont property.

This concrete pour is required to form a portion of the invert slab of the future Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station. A large quantity of concrete will be poured over this time period.

During this concrete pour there will be some construction noise related to construction vehicles backing-up.  Every effort will be made by the contractor to minimize construction noise.

As the station construction progresses, additional pours will occur that may involve early morning work.  Notices will be provided prior to any future work.

The City of Vaughan normal working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. however, the City of Vaughan has approved a noise by-law amendment for Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station which allows the contractor to perform work 24 hours, 7 days a week when required, to minimize impact on the local community.

This work is weather dependant and therefore dates are subject to change.

Your patience is greatly appreciated.
