Steeles Avenue West Westbound Lane Restrictions East of Jane Street October 9 to 12, 2012

Beginning Tuesday, October 9, one additional lane on westbound Steeles Avenue West will be closed from Founders Road to Northwest Gate for utility replacement work. Work will commence at 10:00 a.m. and be completed by 4:00 p.m. each day. Two lanes will remain open eastbound and one lane will remain open westbound at all times. Due to the nature of the work, motorists and transit users may face traffic delays.

Long Weekend Construction Update

Construction will continue this long weekend at the Steeles West Station site. Work will normally run between 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., except for Saturday when work will run from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Construction noise will be minimal.

Pedestrian Access

A new sidewalk is open on the north side of Steeles Avenue West from west of Founders Road to east of Murray Ross Parkway. The sidewalk on the south side of Steeles Avenue West at Northwest Gate is now closed. Pedestrians please use the sidewalk on the north side of Steeles Avenue West.

Steeles Avenue West Speed Limit Update

Paid duty officers will be on Steeles Avenue West directing traffic during the lane restrictions. Please be advised that the speed limit has been reduced on Steeles Avenue West between Jane Street and Keele Street to 50 kilometres an hour and will be strictly enforced by Toronto Police.
