There will be no subway service on Line 1 between Sheppard West and Wilson stations from Monday, April 26 to Thursday, May 6, 2021 for switch installation and replacement. This closure was originally scheduled to end May 5 and has been extended. Regular subway service will resume at approximately 6 a.m. on Friday, May 7, 2021.

Shuttle buses will replace subways during this time. All shuttle buses are accessible and will operate every 60 seconds or better during the morning rush period to provide safe travel and to keep customer volumes on vehicles as low as possible.

When travelling into the city, customers are encouraged to start their journey on the Yonge side of Line 1 or connect to the Yonge side via east/west surface routes, if possible, to avoid the closure area.

The TTC is continuing to capitalize on reduced ridership during the COVID-19 pandemic to carry out vital state-of-good-repair work with minimal inconvenience to customers. The work during this ten-day closure will eliminate years of weekend and nightly early closures.

Customers should note that masks or face coverings are mandatory when travelling on the TTC (exemptions apply). More information on how to wear a mask properly.
