Spadina Avenue and Sussex Avenue - streetcar right-of-way concrete treatment
December 19 and 20, 2017 - 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m.
Work description and purpose
TTC will be undertaking work to heighten cautionary warnings on the Spadina streetcar right-of-way to motorists approaching the streetcar tunnel north of the Sussex Avenue intersection. This work requires temporary changes to the 510/310 Spadina overnight streetcar route when service levels are lighter.
The work involves adding rumble strips on the concrete track allowance and installing additional signs at the bottom of the ramp. A milling machine will be used to create impressions/rumble strips on the concrete.
During this night work noise will be evident when the equipment is in full operation.
TTC service (Tuesday, December 19 and Wednesday, December 20 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. each night)
- Shuttle bus service will replace streetcars on Spadina Avenue between Spadina Station and Queen Street West.
- 510/310 Spadina streetcars will continue to run along regular routing between Union Station and Spadina/Queen, looping via the McCaul Loop (Queen and McCaul) for the return southbound trip to Union Station.
