People pose for photographs on Lower Bay platform

The TTC is participating in Doors Open Toronto 2019, presented by Great Golf. We are giving the public an exclusive sneak peek of the hidden underground station, Bay Lower. The station will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 25.

This year’s Doors Open theme is “20 Something,” celebrating the first 20 years of Doors Open Toronto while looking forward to the next 20 years. Here’s your opportunity to see a station that’s been closed the public since 1966, but continues to be used as a major “Hollywood North” prop, commonly dressed to look like an American subway station.

For this year’s Doors Open Toronto event, customers can enjoy our 28-photo Contact Photo Festival exhibit at Bay Station before making their way down to Bay Lower, where they will find more pictures showcasing the TTC’s history over the decades.

We have a number of fun activities planned for this year including:

  • View a subway train LEGO display
  • Go inside a subway train cab and meet one of our operators
  • Watch vintage video clips
  • Read fun fact decals throughout the event space
  • Meet the TTC’s Honour Guard

Make sure to share your #DOT19 photos with us on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook!

When: Saturday, May 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Last admittance will be at 4:30 p.m.
