TTC's new and improved 2016 Ride Guides now available
February 2, 2016
This week, the TTC releases a refreshed 2016 Ride Guide, Ride Guide Lite and a brand new wallet-sized Ride Guide 'mini.' Ride Guides and the new Ride Guide mini are available at all subway stations; the Ride Guide Lite is available on all buses, streetcars and subway trains.
This year's guides feature a cleaner design and new maps that highlight Toronto landmarks and connections to GTA transit partners. The Ride Guide and the Ride Guide mini also feature subway service alternatives and connecting routes on Line 1, such as streetcar connections in the downtown core, should any interruption occur on the 'U.'
“The 2016 Ride Guide has a variety of new features to help our customers navigate the TTC system more efficiently,” said TTC Chair Josh Colle. “The guides show improved connections with other GTA transit systems, and are offered in three different sizes, adapting to the changing needs of our customers.”
The cover art for the 2016 Ride Guides, a creative rendering of prominent Toronto icons, was designed by local freelance artist Farida Zaman. Zaman's work has been exhibited at private shows and public galleries in New York City, New Jersey and Toronto. Customers can purchase a poster of Zaman's cover art for this year's Ride Guides at shop.ttc.ca.
“The TTC is committed to enhancing our customer experience,” said Deputy CEO and Chief Customer Officer Chris Upfold. “This new Ride Guides provides information about our system in a clear and more easily understandable format, and will help our customers connect to work and play.”
