The TTC 12 Month Pass is an annual pass that provides unlimited travel across the TTC.  It requires a 12 month commitment for which you pay monthly at a discounted rate. This pass is a replacement for the TTC’s Metropass Discount Plan (MDP).

Features and benefits of the TTC 12 Month Pass:

  • Unlimited travel across all regular TTC routes
  • Costs the same as the MDP pass (subject to change depending on fare increase)
  • One-time set-up of your card up at the start of the 12 month agreement and your 12 Month Pass is available on your PRESTO card for the full year (payments are automatically processed each month)

How do I purchase the TTC 12 Month Pass?

Before you can purchase the TTC 12 Month Pass, you need a PRESTO card and a My PRESTO Account.

Seniors/youths must set a senior/youth fare type on their PRESTO card before they can purchase a 12 Month Pass. You can set your senior/youth fare type at select Shoppers Drug Mart locations or at the TTC’s Customer Service Centre at 1900 Yonge Street. You must bring government issued photo identification with you.

I have a PRESTO card and a My PRESTO Account

If you are already using a PRESTO card and have created a My PRESTO Account, follow the steps below.

Order the TTC 12 Month Pass

The 12 Month Pass is only available for purchase online at prestocard.ca. The pass is available for sale eight days before the end of the month and five days after the start of the next month.

  • Visit prestocard.ca and click I’m a PRESTO User.
  • Click Load My Card and log in.
  • Under Add Transit Passes, select Toronto Transit Commission from the drop down menu.
  • Select the 12 Month Pass and click Sign Up
  • Proceed to checkout, fill in the payment information and agree to the Terms and Conditions.
  • You will be charged for your first month’s pass on your credit card or debit account on the day you sign up. After that, your payment will automatically be processed on the 23rd day of each month for the duration of your contract.

It may take up to 24 hours for your 12 Month Pass appear on your PRESTO card.

I have a PRESTO card but no My PRESTO Account

Before you can purchase a 12 Month Pass, you need to create a My PRESTO account.

Create a My PRESTO Account

  • Online: visit prestocard.ca
    • Click on I’m a PRESTO User.
    • Click Create a My PRESTO Account.
    • Complete your name, address, create a password, accept the Terms and Conditions and click Create My Account.
  • By phone: call 1-877-378-6123 and follow the instructions

Wait 24 hours after you create your My PRESTO Account and then tap on a PRESTO device to complete the online enrollment process. To avoid being charged a fare when you tap your card, tap on a PRESTO Self-Serve Reload Machine or PRESTO Fare Vending Machine.Order the TTC 12 Month Pass.

I want to purchase a PRESTO card online

If you do not have a PRESTO card, you can purchase one online. You will also need to create a My PRESTO Account and activate your PRESTO card before you can purchase the 12 Month Pass.

Purchase a PRESTO card online ($6 non-refundable card fee applies).

  • Visit prestocard.ca and follow the instructions.
  • You will need to load a minimum of $10 on your card. This balance won’t expire and you can use it towards any single trips on the TTC until your 12 Month Pass is available on your card, or for travel on any PRESTO-enabled transit system.
  • PRESTO will mail your card to you within 7 to 10 business days.

Create a My PRESTO Account

  • To create a My PRESTO account, visit prestocard.ca
    • Click on I’m a PRESTO User.
    • Click Create a My PRESTO Account.
    • Complete your name, address, create a password, accept the Terms and Conditions and click Create My Account.

Activate your PRESTO card

When you receive your PRESTO card in the mail, you will need to visit prestocard.ca or call 1-877-378-6123 to activate your card before you can use it. Enter your 17 digit PRESTO card number and PIN that you chose when you bought your card online.

Tap on a PRESTO device to complete activation

Wait 24 hours and then tap your card on a PRESTO device to complete the activation process. You have up to 30 days from the time you created your My PRESTO Account to complete your activation or you will have to contact PRESTO to send you a new activation code for your card.

If you are using transit, you may tap on a PRESTO device as you are travelling and this will complete activation of your card. You will be charged a fare when you do this.

To activate your card without being charged a fare, tap on a PRESTO Self-Serve Reload Machine or PRESTO Fare Vending Machine.

When you load your 12 Month Pass onto one of these cards, it is separate from the $14 balance, which can be used to pay fares on any transit agency that uses PRESTO or on the TTC when a pass isn’t loaded onto your card. This balance does not expire.
  • Select Shoppers Drug Mart locations that sell PRESTO cards 
  • PRESTO Fare Vending Machines at various subway station entrances
  • TTC Customer Service Centre, 1900 Yonge Street above Davisville Station

I want to replace my registered lost/stolen PRESTO card

If you purchase a replacement card in person from a Customer Service Outlet or by calling PRESTO, do not create a new My PRESTO Account or add a transit pass, as this is done automatically as part of the card transfer process. When you transfer your balance online or during your call with us, all of your account details including your TTC 12 Month Pass will be transferred as well. If you choose to receive your replacement card through the mail, all of your account details will be automatically transferred to your card.

Notify

Visit prestocard.ca or call PRESTO’s Contact Centre at 1-877-378-6123 to report your lost/stolen card and request your old card be blocked. It can take up to 24 hours for your card to be blocked.

Sign in

Sign in to your existing My PRESTO Account and provide your replacement PRESTO card details. Your 12 Month Pass and any other existing balance will be transferred to your new PRESTO card. This could take up to 24 hours.

Tap on a PRESTO device (skip this step if you purchased your card in person)
If you purchased your replacement PRESTO card online, you will need to tap your card on a PRESTO device to complete the activation process. You have up to 30 days to complete your activation or you will have to contact PRESTO to send you a new activation code for your card.

Frequently Asked Questions:

If I’m buying a TTC 12 Month Pass for the first time online, can I order my card and purchase my pass at the same time?

No. If you ordered your PRESTO card online and created a My PRESTO Account at the same time, you need to activate the PRESTO card before you can add a TTC 12 Month Pass or any funds to it.

What payment methods can I use?

For online purchases you can use a regular credit card (Visa or Mastercard), Visa Debit card or Debit MasterCard from TD, RBC, Scotiabank, BMO or CIBC. For customers paying through a bank account from a bank not listed above, a paper pre-authorized debit form can be obtained at https://www.prestocard.ca. You can download and complete the form and send it to PRESTO, along with a void cheque and a signed copy of the Terms & Conditions. Forms will take approximately 10 business days to process.

Why am I charged on the 23rd day of the month prior to the month for which the pass is valid instead of on the 1st day of the month the pass is valid?

Like the Autorenew feature, payment is required in advance of the upcoming travel month to allow enough time to process the payments.

What happens if I need to cancel my pass before my 12 month contract is up?

That’s fine. However, if you cancel your pass before the end of the 12-month term, you will be required to pay the difference between the discounted monthly rate and the regular monthly pass rate from the start of your current 12 Month Pass contract period to the cancellation date. For example, if your 12 month contract period is July 2018 to June 2019, and you wish to cancel any time before June 2019, cancellation fees would apply.

How can I cancel my pass before it renews automatically?

You must cancel your pass within the first 23 days of the last month of your contract to avoid incurring additional charges. To cancel your pass, follow these steps:

  • Visit prestocard.ca and log into your My PRESTO Account, click on Load drop down menu and then click on Autorenew Transit Pass.
  • On the Manage Autorenew page, click Remove to cancel your TTC 12 Month Pass. On the Cancel Autorenew page, click Confirm (you should then see an Autorenew cancellation confirmation).

Will my TTC 12 Month Pass still be available if my PRESTO card is lost or stolen?

Yes. If you purchase a replacement card in person, do not create a new My PRESTO Account or add a transit pass. This is done automatically as part of the card transfer process.

Can more than one person use the same TTC 12 Month Pass to ride the TTC?

Yes. But it can only be used by one person travelling at a time. You cannot pass back your PRESTO card to someone travelling with you.

Where can I find PRESTO Fare Vending Machines?

All subway stations have PRESTO Fare Vending Machine available at select entrances. By the end of October every subway station entrance will have at least one PRESTO Fare Vending Machines.

Does my 12 Month Pass cover Downtown Express bus routes?

No. An additional fare, equal to your regular fare, is required for Downtown Express bus routes.  

Can I get a pro-rated refund if I cancel my 12 Month Pass mid-month?

No, monthly passes expire at the end of each month and pro-rated refunds are not given if cancelled mid-month.

Does my 12 Month Pass cover fares on other transit companies?

No. Your 12 Month Pass is only valid for transportation on the Toronto Transit Commission.
