The Diversity Award recognizes TTC employees who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity and belonging. These individuals model inclusive behaviour and act as champions for diversity and inclusion. Nominations open on Aug. 9! Check out the new Rewards and Recognition website below.

Welcome to the TTC’s Rewards and Recognition Programs.

The Rewards and Recognition nomination program recognizes employees who go above and beyond, and demonstrate the TTC’s core values of safety, leadership, customer service, teamwork and innovation and creativity. Since the program was introduced in 2015, hundreds of employees have been honoured. In recent years, we have also honoured an Employee of the Year, chosen from among the year’s winners in all categories.

Your role in nominating exceptional employees whose behaviours go above and beyond their normal duties is critical to the program’s success. You can nominate your peers at any time online from work or home at the new Rewards and Recognition website at rewards.ttc.ca.

TTC Legacy Programs recognize important career milestones. We proudly continue to honour long-term dedication and loyalty to the TTC through our Long Service and Retirement Programs. TTC Safety Programs recognize and celebrate cumulative time of work completed safely. The Safe Worker, Safe Operator and Zero-Injury Programs are designed to recognize and reward those behaviours we value most.

Outside of these programs, we still want to acknowledge employees who do great work every day. TTC Department Heads and members of the Executive Team can reward these everyday great behaviours “on the spot” by giving a Spot Award.

The Rewards and Recognition Programs align with a major critical path in the TTC’s Five-Year Corporate Plan: to enable our employees to succeed and celebrate a job well done.

Sending commendations

TTC employees are commended daily by customers – by phone, mail/e-mail, online on in person. All commendations that are received from customers should be forwarded to the Customer Service Section in the Customer Service Centre. This will generate a Customer Service Report (CSR), which is redirected to the employee’s work location to confirm his or her name and to obtain permission to publish it in The Coupler. The work location must forward a copy of the CSR to The Coupler in order to have an individual recognized in Commendations Corner. An employee being commended by another employee should be notified in writing, with a copy to The Coupler and to the employee’s work location or manager, to obtain permission to publish it in The Coupler. These commendations can be forwarded via internal mail to The Coupler Office in the McBrien Building, or by e-mail to mike.detoma@ttc.ca.
