VIRTUAL UNDERGROUND FREEDOM TRAIN RIDE/EMANCIPATION DAY

The TTC is proud to be supporting and participating in the ninth annual underground freedom train ride to celebrate Emancipation Day on August 1. The Emancipation Day Freedom Ride is a virtual experience again this year.
Time: 10:45 p.m. on Saturday, July 31.
Location: Live-streamed on YouTube.
Honouring Emancipation Day reminds us of how important it is to combat anti-Black racism and to eliminate discrimination in all its forms in our communities as well as our workplaces. Please stay tuned for more details on our website and at adbcc.org.

FREE WARRIORS’ DAY RIDES FOR MILITARY AND VETERANS

The Warriors’ Day Parade Council, which was established in 1921, marks its 100th anniversary in 2021. Although the Warriors’ Day Parade at the CNE is cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic, the TTC will continue to honour current and former members of Canada’s military, and one companion, by providing service free of charge on Warriors’ Day on Aug. 21. War and peacekeeping veterans may be required to show their service medals/ribbons to receive free access to all TTC vehicles and stations.

MEETING OF THE TTC BOARD

TTC Board meetings are held via an online video conferencing platform during the COVID-19 pandemic. Commissioners, TTC staff and the public are expected to participate in meetings remotely. These measures are necessary to comply with physical distancing requirements and a Provincial Order that limits public gatherings.

18TH ANNUAL TTC STAFF GOLF TOURNAMENT

Location: Mill Run Golf Club in Uxbridge.
Time: TBD for shotgun start or timed tee-off format. Scramble play (best ball).
Cost: $125 for employees/pensioners; $140 for guests. Includes: 18 holes with cart, boxed breakfast, barbecue lunch on course and welcome gift. It’s recommended you reserve your spot ASAP. Reserve by July 30. Payment required by August 13. No refunds after August 27. COVID-19 safety protocols will be enforced.
