Public information meeting on the Transit Responsibilities Review hosted by the City of Toronto and the TTC. Residents are invited to attend these meetings to learn more about the transit review, ask questions and share comments.

APTA RAIL RODEO & CONFERENCE

Thursday, June 20 to Sunday, June 23, 2019

2019 APTA INTERNATIONAL RAIL RODEO

Location: Leslie Barns.
The TTC is hosting APTA’s 27th Annual International Rail Rodeo, an international skills competition for rail operators and maintenance workers. TTC teams will be competing against approximately 20 rival properties from across the continent. The TTC will be represented by the winners of the mini rail rodeo held on May 5.

2019 APTA INTERNATIONAL RAIL CONFERENCE

Location: Sheraton Centre, downtown Toronto.
The TTC is hosting APTA’s 2019 International Rail Conference, a technical conference showcasing transit technology, operations, maintenance, planning, finance, capital projects, workforce development and safety and security. More than 1,200 transit delegates from across North America and Japan are expected in the city. Presentations by TTC staff will be featured during the conference. Technical tours include: Leslie Barns, Transit Control, Wilson Complex and the Line 1 extension to Vaughan Metropolitan Centre.

 

TRANSIT RESPONSIBILITIES REVIEW BETWEEN THE CITY & THE PROVINCE

City Planning staff is conducting customer awareness and consultation on Transit Implementation in the subway system. The Province introduced Bill 107: Getting Ontario Moving Act, which enables a series of changes to how transit is planned, designed and delivered in Toronto. More changes are expected later this year and in 2020. The City and Province are currently conducting a joint review of transit responsibilities. More information about the public consultation and survey is available at the City of Toronto website.
