March Board Period Services Changes

Starting on Sunday, March 29, the TTC will be making the following service adjustments:

Service reliability improvements
The program for continuous monitoring and improvement to schedules to better match observed operating conditions will result in new schedules for the following routes. All are weekday service changes, unless otherwise noted:
7 Bathurst
23 Dawes
37 Islington
111 East Mall
937 Islington Express
986 Scarborough Express
505 Dundas

Seasonal service ending
> 86 Scarborough – seasonal service to Toronto Zoo for Terra Lumina evening events end. Service will operate on a divisional level until Easter Monday (April 13).

Streetcar service changes
> 505 Dundas – streetcar service resumes with low-floor streetcars. Service will operate from Leslie Barns. Supplementary trips will be operated by buses during the busiest times in the morning peak period.
> 511 Bathurst – the route will be replaced by buses, due to an insufficient fleet of streetcars. Streetcars will operate when made available during construction projects on other routes.

Construction projects beginning
> Keele Station bus roadway rehabilitation – requires the removal of all service from the off-street bus terminal. The 30 High Park, 41 Keele, 941 Keele Express, 80 Queensway, 89 Weston and 989 Weston Express will be affected.
> Bathurst Street bridge rehabilitation – requires the removal of 511 Bathurst streetcar service that will facilitate early works prior to the closure of the Bathurst Street bridge, south of Front Street, starting in mid-May 2020.
> Eglinton West Station bus terminal closure – requires removal of all service from the off-street bus terminal for Line 5 Eglinton work. The 32 Eglinton West, 63A Ossington and 109 Ranee will be affected. A new route, 163 Oakwood, will be introduced temporarily.
> Roncesvalles Carhouse East Gate rehabilitation – reduces yard storage and requires the reallocation of 501 Queen and 508 Lake Shore service to Russell Carhouse.

> Wheel-Trans Bus Garage employee parking – temporary 383 Wheel-Trans Shuttle service will end.

> Kennedy Station Elevator Overhaul Project until August 2020
> Bus roadway rehabilitation at Sheppard West Station until 2021
> Keele Station Easier Access construction until September 2020
> Runnymede Station Easier Access construction until late 2020
> McNicoll Garage impacting the 42 Cummer until November 2020
> City construction on Wellington Street until December 2020
> Roncesvalles Carhouse renovation continues until December 2020
> Roncesvalles Carhouse partial reopening - January to December 2020
> Line 3 Scarborough - Vehicle Rehab - January to September 2020
> MX Eglinton LRT Construction (Existing) - January to December 2020
> MX Eglinton LRT Construction - RAD buses - January to December 2020
> MX Finch West LRT Construction - January to December 2020
> City Construction at Six Points - January to December 2020

Service Changes – Bus

Eglinton West Station Bus Terminal Closure
> Metrolinx construction – Line 5 Eglinton
Customer impact: Major
Effective date: March 29, 2020 until September 2020
As part of Line 5 Eglinton construction, the bus terminal at Eglinton West Station will be closed starting March 2020 until September 2020 to facilitate construction of the LRT station roof slab. Bus routes from this station will not serve the bus terminal, and the 32 Eglinton West, 63A Ossington and 109 Ranee will be diverted from the station. Subway service will continue to operate at Eglinton West Station and customers may transfer from on-street to the subway.

Keele Station Bus Roadway Rehabilitation
> TTC construction
Customer impact: Major
Effective date: March 29, 2020 until fall 2020
Keele Station bus terminal will be closed for bus roadway rehabilitation starting March 2020 until fall 2020. All the bus routes from Keele Station will be diverted to other terminal locations. Customers will transfer on-street, at Bloor Street West and Keele Street, between bus routes and Keele subway station.

7 Bathurst
> Service reliability improvement
Customer impact: Minor
Effective date: March 30, 2020
Schedules will be adjusted from Monday to Friday to improve service reliability. Service levels will generally remain the same throughout the day.

12 Kingston Rd
> Schedule change – Neil McNeil Catholic High School
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: March 30, 2020
At the request of the school, the scheduled departure time for the four trips serving Neil McNeil Catholic High School will be adjusted in the afternoon peak period from Monday to Friday. The new departure times from the school to Victoria Park Station will change. Scheduled departure from Neil McNeil to Victoria Park Stn are:

17 Birchmount 
> Service Increase
Customer impact: Minor
Effective date: March 30, 2020
Service frequencies will be slightly improved after midnight from Monday to Friday and trip times in the late evening will be adjusted.

23 Dawes
> Service reliability improvement
Customer impact: Minor
Effective date: March 30, 2020
Schedules will be adjusted throughout the day from Monday to Friday to improve service reliability. Service levels will generally be slightly reduced throughout the day.

30 High Park/80 Queensway
> TTC Construction – Keele Station
Customer impact: Major
Effective date: March 29, 2020 until Fall 2020
As part of the Keele Station bus roadway reconstruction, the bus terminal will be closed and 80 Queensway will be diverted via High Park Avenue and interlined with 30 High Park. Customers using the 80 Queensway route will transfer on-street, at Bloor Street West and Keele Street, between other bus routes and Keele subway station. With the interlined service, customers will board northbound 30 High Park from inside the bus terminal at High Park Station, and will alight southbound 30 High Park from the street on High Park Avenue.

32 Eglinton West
> Metrolinx construction – Line 5 Eglinton
Customer impact: Major
Effective date: March 29, 2020 until September 2020
As part of Line 5 Eglinton construction, the bus terminal at Eglinton West Station will be closed and 32 Eglinton West will serve the station on-street at temporary bus stops located approximately 150-to-200 metres west of the station entrance. The 32D (Eglinton West Stn-Jane & Emmett) branch will be temporarily extended to Eglinton Station.

37 Islington
> Service reliability improvement
Customer impact: Minor
Budgetary impact: None – cost neutral
Effective date: March 30, 2020
Schedules will be adjusted throughout the day from Monday to Friday to improve service reliability. Service levels will generally be slightly reduced throughout the day.

41 Keele/941 Keele Express/341 Keele
> TTC Construction – Keele Station
Customer impact: Major
Effective date: March 29, 2020 until fall 2020
As part of the Keele Station bus roadway reconstruction, the bus terminal will be closed and all bus services will be diverted on-street. Customers connecting with the 41 Keele/941 Keele Express, and the 341 Keele overnight bus route, will transfer on-street, at Bloor Street West and Keele Street, between other bus routes and Keele subway station.

51 Leslie
> Routing change
Customer impact: Minor
Effective date: March 29, 2020
Southbound routing into Eglinton Station will be adjusted via Duplex Avenue and Berwick Avenue to utilize the south entrance and serve the southernmost platform (Bay 1). There will be no change to schedules.

52 Lawrence West
> Service reallocation – first and last trips
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: March 30, 2020
Some trips with low ridership that do not meet the TTC’s service standards will be eliminated so that resources can be reallocated. The first eastbound trip on the 52G (Lawrence West Stn-Martin Grove via The Westway) from Martin Grove and Tollington Road will now depart at approximately 5:22 a.m. The last westbound 52G will now depart Lawrence West Station at 1:30 a.m.

56 Leaside
> Routing change
Customer impact: Minor
Effective date: March 29, 2020
Northbound routing on 56A (Donlands Stn-Eglinton Stn) into Eglinton Station will be adjusted via Duplex Avenue and Berwick Avenue to utilize the south entrance and serve the southernmost platform (Bay 1). There will be no change to schedules.

63 Ossington
> Metrolinx construction – Line 5 Eglinton
Customer impact: Major
Effective date: March 29, 2020 until September 2020
As part of Line 5 Eglinton construction, the bus terminal at Eglinton West Station will be closed and 63A (Eglinton West Stn-Liberty Village) will be temporarily suspended. Service on the 63 Ossington will temporarily only operate on the 63B (St Clair-Liberty Village) branch, and service north of St. Clair Avenue on Oakwood Avenue will be provided by the new 163 Oakwood route. Service levels from St. Clair Avenue to Liberty Village will be maintained.

86 Scarborough
> Seasonal evening service ending – Toronto Zoo
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: April 18, 2020
Scheduled weekend evening service to the Toronto Zoo for Terra Lumina will end after April 13. The last trip from Toronto Zoo towards Kennedy Station will be at approximately 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

89 Weston/989 Weston Express
> TTC Construction – Keele Station
Customer impact: Major
Effective date: March 29, 2020 until fall 2020
As part of the Keele Station bus roadway reconstruction, the bus terminal will be closed and all bus services will be diverted on-street. Customers connecting with the 89 Weston/989 Weston Express will transfer on-street, at Bloor Street West and Keele Street, between other bus routes and Keele subway station.

109 Ranee
> Metrolinx construction – Line 5 Eglinton
Customer impact: Major
Effective date: March 29, 2020 until September 2020
As part of Line 5 Eglinton construction, the bus terminal at Eglinton West Station will be closed and 109 Ranee will be truncated at Lawrence West Station during the construction period. Bus service on Marlee Avenue will be temporarily served by the new 163 Oakwood.

111 East Mall
> Service reliability improvement
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: March 30, 2020
Schedules will be adjusted throughout the day from Monday to Friday to improve service reliability. Service levels will be slightly reduced throughout the day.

161 Rogers Rd
> Service reliability improvement
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: March 30, 2020
Schedules will be adjusted throughout the day from Monday to Friday to improve service reliability. Service levels will be slightly reduced throughout the day.

163 Oakwood
> Metrolinx construction – Line 5 Eglinton
Customer impact: Major
Effective date: March 29, 2020 until September 2020
As part of Line 5 Eglinton construction, the bus terminal at Eglinton West Station will be closed and 63A (Eglinton West Stn-Liberty Village) will be temporarily suspended. Service north of St. Clair Avenue on Oakwood Avenue will be provided by the new 163 Oakwood route. This route will operate all periods of the week, from Ossington Station to Lawrence West Station via Ossington, Oakwood and Marlee avenues. Service south of St. Clair Avenue will continue to be operated by the 63 Ossington on the 63B (St Clair-Liberty Village) branch.

937 Islington Express
> Service reliability improvement
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: March 30, 2020
Schedules will be adjusted throughout the day from Monday to Friday to improve service reliability. Service levels will be reduced slightly throughout the day.

986 Scarborough Express
> Service reliability improvement
Customer impact: Minor
Effective date: March 30, 2020
Schedules will be adjusted throughout the day from Monday to Friday to improve service reliability. Service levels will be reduced slightly throughout the day.

Service Changes – Streetcar

501 Queen
> Service increase
Customer impact: Minor
Effective date: March 30, 2020
Service will be increased in the morning peak period to reduce crowding. Two bus trips will be added to operate westbound from Queen Street East and Kingston Road at approximately 8:05 a.m. and 8:10 a.m.

504 King
> Service reduction – Streetcar fleet availability
Customer impact: Minor
Effective date: April 4, 2020
Service will be reduced Saturday afternoon to reflect total streetcar fleet availability. There will be a minor change to service levels.

505 Dundas
> Streetcar service resumes
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: March 29, 2020
Streetcar service will resume on the 505 Dundas route with low-floor streetcars. Service levels will be adjusted to reflect low-floor streetcar capacity. Streetcars will operate every seven-to-nine minutes during peak periods and every 10 minutes or better at all other times. During the morning peak period, Monday to Friday, supplemental bus trips will operate in both directions to reduce wait times and increase capacity between 8 a.m. and 8:45 a.m.

511 Bathurst
> Vehicle type change – Streetcar Fleet Shortage
> City Construction begins – Bathurst Street Bridge Rehabilitation
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: March 29, 2020 until May 2020
Streetcars will be replaced by buses over the entire route due to a shortage of streetcars. This replacement coincides with prep work for upcoming construction on the Bathurst Street bridge south of Front Street. Bus replacement service is expected to continue through the end of 2020. 511 Bathurst buses will operate between Bathurst Station and Exhibition Loop. Due to the closure of the westbound lanes on Fleet Street at Bathurst Street, southbound buses will operate via Bathurst Street, Fort York Boulevard, Lake Shore Boulevard and Strachan Avenue to Fleet Street into Exhibition Loop. Northbound buses will operate via Fleet Street, Fort York Boulevard and Bathurst Street to Bathurst Station. 511 Bathurst buses will use existing bus stops on Fort York Boulevard served by the 121 Fort York-Esplanade bus at Fort York/Fleet, Fort York/Bastion and westbound Fort York/Bathurst. A new northbound stop at Fort York/Bathurst will be provided.
