June Board Period Service Changes

Starting on Sunday, June 23, the TTC will be making the following service adjustments:

SERVICE CHANGES

Royal York Station bus loop re-opening from Easier Access construction
Customer impact: Major
Effective date: May 24, 2019
With the end of construction work closing the bus loop for Easier Access, regular bus service will return to Royal York Station starting May 24, 2019. This routing change will be accommodated at the divisional level until the schedules get formally adjusted in the August 2019 board period.

Lawrence Station bus driveway rehabilitation
Customer impact: Major
Effective date: June 23, 2019
Part of the bus roadway at Lawrence Station will be closed for approximately six months to accommodate roadway rehabilitation. During this construction, some bus routes will operate on diversion. The 52 Lawrence West and 952 Lawrence West Express will temporarily operate from the platforms on the east side of the station. The 124 Sunnybrook and 162 Lawrence-Donway will operate on-street and not enter the station, and these routes will extend to Roe Loop on Avenue Road.

Line 5 Eglinton construction intersection closure – Leslie Street and Eglinton Avenue East
Customer impact: Major
Effective date: June 23, 2019
The intersection of Leslie Street and Eglinton Avenue East will be closed for two months for Line 5 Eglinton construction. East-west traffic on Eglinton Avenue will be permitted, but north-south traffic on Leslie will be prohibited. A new temporary bus loop facility will be built by Crosslinx to allow buses to turn around at Eglinton.

2 Bloor-Danforth
> Seasonal service reduction
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: June 23, 2019
Service will be reduced on Line 2 Bloor-Danforth in the peak periods to match the decline in ridership during the summer months. Regular service levels will resume after Labour Day, Monday, September 2, 2019.

6 Bay
> Service restructure
> Service reliability improvement
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: June 24, 2019
Service will be restructured on 6 Bay to reduce customer wait times on Davenport Road north of Bloor Street. The 6B (Bloor-Queens Quay & Sherbourne) branch will be eliminated and all trips will operate from Dupont to Queens Quay and Sherbourne. Service will also be adjusted from Monday to Friday to improve service reliability for customers. Service levels will change throughout the day, and some additional trips will operate in the early part of the midday to reduce crowding for customers.

20 Cliffside
> City road construction
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: June 23, 2019
Schedules will be revised on this route to account for expected delays from planned City construction on Midland Avenue between Danforth Road and Lawrence Avenue East.

21 Brimley
> City road construction
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: June 23, 2019
Schedules will be revised on this route to account for expected delays from planned City construction on Brimley Road between Progress Avenue and Huntingwood Drive.

29 Dufferin
> Seasonal routing change
Customer impact: Minor
Effective date: June 23, 2019
All services on the 29 Dufferin will change to temporarily terminate at Dufferin Gate instead of Princes’ Gate in order to accommodate the frequent closure of the Exhibition Grounds in the busy summer season.

30 Lambton
> Seasonal route extension
Customer impact: Minor
Effective date: June 23, 2019
Seasonal summer service will operate into High Park on the 30B Lambton branch on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, between approximately 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
The last day of service on this extension will be Labour Day, Monday, September 2, 2019.

31 Greenwood
> Service reliability improvement
Customer impact: Minor
Effective date: June 24, 2019
Schedules will be adjusted from Monday to Friday to improve service reliability for customers and scheduled service levels will change throughout the day.

34 Eglinton East
> Metrolinx construction – Line 5 Eglinton
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: Jun 23, 2019
Due to Metrolinx Line 5 construction, north-south access at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue East and Leslie Street will be closed for approximately eight weeks. The 34 Eglinton East will continue to travel through the intersection. Service on 34C (Eglinton Stn to Flemingdon Park) branch during certain periods will be increased for the duration of construction to mitigate connection impacts for customers on 51 Leslie and 54 Lawrence East.

51 Leslie
> Metrolinx construction – Line 5 Eglinton
Customer impact: Major
Effective date: Jun 23, 2019
Due to Metrolinx Line 5 construction, north-south access at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue East and Leslie Street will be closed for approximately eight weeks. The 51 Leslie will terminate at Leslie and Eglinton in a temporary bus loop facility. Customers will have to transfer from 51 Leslie to bus services on Eglinton to connect to Eglinton Station for the duration of construction. On weekday evenings and weekend early morning and evenings, an additional branch, the 51C, will operate from the temporary Eglinton bus loop to Don Mills and Lawrence to provide customers with additional coverage to the portion of Lawrence Avenue not served by 54 Lawrence East.

54 Lawrence East/954 Lawrence East Express
> Metrolinx construction – Line 5 Eglinton
Customer impact: Major
Effective date: June 23, 2019
Due to Metrolinx Line 5 construction, north-south access at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue East and Leslie Street will be closed for approximately eight weeks. On weekdays, only from approximately 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. and weekends from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., 54 Lawrence East will operate as follows:
- 54C Leslie-Starspray: from Starspray Loop in the east to a temporary bus loop at Leslie and Eglinton.
- 54G Leslie-Orton Park: from Orton Park and Scarborough Golf Club Road in the east to a temporary bus loop at Leslie and Eglinton.
- 54D Eglinton Stn-Lawrence East Stn: from Lawrence East Station to Eglinton Station via Don Mills and Eglinton.

At all other times, the 54 Lawrence East will operate via Don Mills Road, between Lawrence Avenue East and Eglinton Avenue East, and continuous service will operate to Eglinton Station. There will be no routing changes to 954 Lawrence East Express.

57 Midland
> City road construction
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: June 23, 2019
Schedules will be revised to account for expected delays from planned City construction on Midland Avenue between Danforth Road and Lawrence Avenue East.

90 Vaughan
> Service reliability improvement
Customer impact: Minor
Effective date: June 24, 2019
Schedules will be adjusted from Monday to Friday to improve service reliability for customers and scheduled service levels will change throughout the day.

94 Wellesley
> TTC construction ends
> Service reliability improvement
> Seasonal service reduction
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: June 23, 2019
The construction at Wellesley Station for Easier Access will be complete and regular service to the bus terminal will be restored. The 94C (Castle Frank Stn to Queen’s Park) will be replaced by 94B (Castle Frank Stn to Wellesley Stn). Schedules will be adjusted, Monday to Friday, to improve service reliability and service levels will change slightly throughout the day. Service levels in the peak periods and midday will be temporarily reduced as part of seasonal service reductions to reflect the change in summer ridership on this route. Regular service levels will resume in September 2019.

113 Danforth
> City road construction
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: June 23, 2019
Schedules will be revised to account for expected delays from planned City construction on Danforth Road between St. Clair Avenue East and Danforth Avenue.

124 Sunnybrook
> TTC construction – Lawrence Station
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: June 23, 2019
Platforms on one side of Lawrence Station will be closed due to bus roadway construction. As a result, the 124 Sunnybrook will not enter Lawrence Station and will extend to Roe Loop at Avenue Road and Old Orchard Grove. Service to Lawrence Station will be accommodated on-street at Yonge Street and Lawrence Avenue. Accessible connections to 52 Lawrence West/952 Lawrence Express can be made at any common stop along Lawrence Avenue West.

162 Lawrence-Donway
> TTC construction – Lawrence Station
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: June 23, 2019
Platforms on one side of Lawrence Station will be closed due to bus roadway construction. 162 Lawrence-Donway will be extended to Roe Loop at Avenue Road and Old Orchard Grove. Additional travel time and vehicles will be added to the schedule all periods of the day to maintain service levels on 162 Lawrence-Donway. Service to Lawrence Station will be accommodated at Yonge Street and Lawrence Avenue. Accessible connections to 52 Lawrence West/952 Lawrence West Express can be made at any common stop along Lawrence Avenue West.

169 Huntingwood
> City road construction
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: June 23, 2019
Schedules will be revised to account for expected delays from planned City construction on Huntingwood Drive between Kennedy Road and Brimley Road.

900 Airport Express
> Seasonal service increase
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: June 23, 2019
Service will be increased, seven days a week, to support increased travel to and from Toronto Pearson International Airport during the summer months. Regular service levels will return in September 2019.

953 Steeles East-Express
> Schedule change
Customer impact: Minor
Effective date: June 24, 2019
Eastbound 953A (Finch Stn to Staines Express) trips that terminate at Morningside Avenue and Finch Avenue will be extended to Seasons Drive and Staines Road to complete the loop before returning to the garage. This will improve transfers for customers at the end of the express service.

501/301 Queen
> Low-floor streetcar conversion – East of Humber Loop
> Service reliability improvement
> Temporary service increase – Streetcar overnight storage constraints
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: June 23, 2019
Streetcars on 501 Queen, between Humber Loop and Neville Park, will be fully scheduled with low-floor streetcars. Schedules will be revised in all periods to improve service reliability; service levels will reflect low-floor streetcar capacity. Additional bus service will also be scheduled to reduce crowding for customers on the route during the busiest times over the busiest portions of the route. Service on the 301 Queen in overnight periods will also be temporarily increased due to reduced storage capacity from construction work in the maintenance yard. Streetcar service will operate every 15 minutes, and all overnight service will be operated by low-floor streetcars.

Effective date: June 23, 2019
Service will be increased at various times of day throughout the week to facilitate increased summer activity on the Harbourfront.

511 Bathurst
> Streetcar operation
> Service reliability improvement
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: June 23, 2019
Streetcars will operate on 511 Bathurst with low-floor streetcars being deployed as they become available through the summer of 2019. Schedules will also be adjusted at all times of the week to improve service reliability for customers.

SEASONAL SERVICE REDUCTIONS – Effective June 23, 2019

Monday-to-Friday seasonal service reductions will be made, mostly in the peak periods, on many routes to match reduced summer ridership levels. These routes are listed below. Regular service levels resume in September 2019.
