Changes to Operations Group – Transit Control

As you know, in June of 2018, a new organizational structure was announced that included a Head of Transit Control, separate from the Head of Subway Transportation. This change reflected the increasing responsibility of Transit Control as Bus and Streetcar are being integrated.

I am pleased to announce that effective Monday, January 13, 2019, Andrew Dixon will assume the role of Head of Transit Control (acting). Andrew brings 17 years of experience in Streetcar, Subway, Stations and Bus Transportation, where he has served as a Supervisor, Chief Supervisor and Duty Station Manager before being promoted to Manager of Rail Training in 2014. His diverse operational and leadership background will be an asset as he takes on this very challenging position.

Raewyn Jackson will remain in her role as Head of Subway Transportation to focus on the many challenges that lie ahead. Raewyn has served in both capacities over the past two years, and has shown tremendous leadership on significant improvements in both Transit Control and Subway Transportation, including the impressive performance achievements on the Yonge-University Line over the past year.

I am also pleased to announce that Michael Hazlett will be joining the ATC Team as Operations Integration Specialist. Mike has played a key role in the implementation of Phases 1 and 2, as trains now operate in ATC from Vaughan to Dupont. Mike will move full time into the project team, where he will continue to ensure that there is full alignment between Operations and ATC as we move ahead on Phases 3, 4 and 5 of this high-priority project, while completing the resignalling of one of the busiest subway lines in North America.

Congratulations to Andrew, Raewyn and Michael – their expertise and commitment to this organization will no doubt set us up for continued success in 2019 and beyond.
