COVID-19 Update: Positive tests

June 29: The employee is a Bus Operator who works at Arrow Road Division. The individual developed symptoms on June 27. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, June 29, 2021. The individual last reported to work on June 25, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

June 18: The first employee is a Wheel-Trans Operator who works at Lakeshore Division. The individual is asymptomatic. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on May 29, 2021. The individual last reported to work on May 26, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second employee is a Bus Operator who works at Malvern Division. The individual developed symptoms on June 9, 2021. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on June 13, 2021. The individual last reported to work on June 1, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

June 17: The employee works in the Procurement and Category Management Department. The individual developed symptoms on June 10. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on June 16, 2021. The individual last reported to work on March 29, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

June 16: The first employee is a Bus Operator who works at Malvern Division. The individual developed symptoms on June 14. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, June 16, 2021. The individual last reported to work on June 14, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second employee is a Tower Controller who works at Transit Control. The individual developed symptoms on June 12. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, June 16, 2021. The individual last reported to work on June 9, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

June 15: The individual is a Contractor who works at Wilson Bus Garage. The individual is asymptomatic. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, June 14, 2021. The individual last reported to work on June 10, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

June 14: The first employee is a Duty Station Manager who works in the Stations Department. The individual developed symptoms on June 9, 2021. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, June 13, 2021. The individual last reported to work on June 4, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second employee is a Bus Operator who works at Birchmount Division. The individual developed symptoms on June 6. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on June 12, 2021. The individual last reported to work on June 10, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The third employee works in the Legal Department. The individual developed symptoms on June 11. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, June 13, 2021. The individual works from home and is currently self-isolating there.

June 8: The employee is a Streetcar Operator who works at Roncesvalles Division. The individual developed symptoms on May 27. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on May 30, 2021. The individual last reported to work on May 26, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

June 7: The first employee is a Coach Technician who works at Malvern Garage. The individual developed symptoms on June 5. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, June 7, 2021. The individual last reported to work on June 5, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second employee is a Bus Operator who works at Mount Dennis Division. The individual is asymptomatic. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, June 7, 2021. The individual last reported to work on June 5, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

Following TPH guidance on case and contact management, the TTC is assessing whether there were any close contacts with the individual while contagious, requiring self-isolation.

The TTC takes safety very seriously and considers the health and well-being of TTC employees of utmost importance. The TTC will continue to report information about positive diagnoses and publish the information on the TTC COVID-19 case update page on the TTC website at: http://www.ttc.ca/Riding_the_TTC/Safety_and_Security/Case_update.jsp. To date, 60 employees have returned to work since testing positive.

Please note, priority access is now available for TTC employees who are essential frontline workers or are required to support frontline work and are also exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19. If you develop new or worsening symptoms consistent with COVID-19 (see link above) or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, stay home and contact Occupational Health at 416-393-4572 or OHEW@ttc.ca to be connected with a Disability Management Specialist (DMS). If you are eligible for testing, your DMS will provide you with a letter from Toronto Public Health recommending priority testing.

Important reminder: Safety notices advise employees with concerns about their personal health to contact their family doctor or Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000. Toronto Public Health has also set up a coronavirus hotline that provides the public with a place to get information, ask questions about this virus and connect with a health professional at 416-338-7600.
