Working from Home: survey results and supports

First and foremost, I’d like to thank all of you who have been working from home for doing your part to help block the spread of COVID-19. Since March, approximately 1,500 employees have been working from home on any given day. As communicated previously, working from home will continue to be the norm for the remainder of the year. Along with the many benefits of working from home, I recognize that there are also many challenges. In an effort to assist you with some of these challenges, we have put together the attached Employee Guide to Working from Home During Pandemic. This guide is specific to the coronavirus pandemic and was developed as a point of reference for many of the materials and communications already provided to employees since March.

Second, I’d like to take this opportunity to share some of the results of the Working from Home survey sent to each of you as well as highlight a few of the supports that are currently planned, underway or implemented to better support employees remotely.

Next Steps

Finally, as you know the TTC has extended the work from home timelines until at least January 2021. This means that unless there is a business requirement for you to be in the workplace (as determined by your management team) it is expected you work from home.

As part of this Return to Work planning, TTC Return to Work Co-ordinators will be working with various departments to examine the business need to have employees back in the workplace and determine scheduling and safety protocols required. Though there are no clearly defined dates to share, where there is a business need, some employees will be asked to return to the office before January 2021. Please keep in mind, in those situations your direct leadership team will be in contact with you.

We remain committed to your safety and we will continue to update you as we learn more about COVID-19 and as public health recommendations change.
