COVID-19 Update: Employees test positive

October 24: the TTC learned that one employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual is an employee who works at Subway Electrical. The individual developed symptoms on October 22, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, October 24, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 21, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

October 23: the TTC learned that one employee has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual is an employee who works at Revenue Operations. The individual is asymptomatic. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, October 23, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 20, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

October 22: the TTC learned that five employees have tested positive for COVID-19. The first individual is an employee who works at Building Services. The individual developed symptoms on October 19, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, October 22, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 16, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second individual is an employee who works at Subway Electrical. The individual developed symptoms on October 16, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, October 22, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 16, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The third individual is an employee who works at Building Services. The individual developed symptoms on October 21, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, October 22, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 20, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The fourth employee is a Bus Operator who works at Arrow Division. The individual developed symptoms on October 21, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, October 22, 2020. The employee last reported to work on September 25, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The fifth employee is a Bus Operator who works at Arrow Division. The individual is asymptomatic. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, October 22, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 13, and is currently self-isolating at home.

October 22: the TTC learned that two employees have tested positive for COVID-19. The first is an employee who works at the Operations Training Centre. The individual is asymptomatic. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, October 21, 2020. The employee last reported to the workplace on October 15, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second is a Wheel-Trans Operator who works at Lakeshore Division. The individual developed symptoms on October 13, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, October 21, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 11, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

October 18: the TTC learned that two employees have tested positive for COVID-19. The first employee is an employee who works at Building Services. The individual developed symptoms on October 15, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, October 18, 2020. The employee last reported to the workplace on October 15, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second employee is a Service Person who works at Station Services. The individual developed symptoms on October 9, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 October 17, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 9, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

October 17: the TTC learned that two employees have tested positive for COVID-19. The first employee is a Bus Operator who works at Malvern Division. The individual developed symptoms on October 16, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, October 17, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 15, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second employee is a Bus Operator who works at Mount Dennis Division. The individual developed symptoms on October 15, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, October 17, 2020. The employee last reported to the workplace on October 9, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

Following TPH guidance on case and contact management, the TTC is assessing whether there were any close contacts with the individual while contagious, requiring self-isolation.

The TTC takes safety very seriously and considers the health and well-being of TTC employees of utmost importance. The TTC will continue to report information about positive diagnoses and publish the information on the TTC COVID-19 case update page on the TTC website at: http://www.ttc.ca/Riding_the_TTC/Safety_and_Security/Case_update.jsp. To date, 60 employees have returned to work since testing positive.

Please note, priority access is now available for TTC employees who are essential frontline workers or are required to support frontline work and are also exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19. If you develop new or worsening symptoms consistent with COVID-19 (see link above) or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, stay home and contact Occupational Health at 416-393-4572 or OHEW@ttc.ca to be connected with a Disability Management Specialist (DMS). If you are eligible for testing, your DMS will provide you with a letter from Toronto Public Health recommending priority testing.

Important reminder: Safety notices advise employees with concerns about their personal health to contact their family doctor or Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000. Toronto Public Health has also set up a coronavirus hotline that provides the public with a place to get information, ask questions about this virus and connect with a health professional at 416-338-7600.
