We are pleased to announce that after a competitive search, Usman Sheikh will be joining the Procurement and Category Management Department as Director – Procurement, Operating starting on March 18, 2020.

Usman is an accomplished and results-focused strategic procurement director. He has extensive strategic sourcing experience in complex and global business environments, such as industry automation, energy management and broadcast communications.

Usman joins the TTC from Siemens Canada where he worked in various leadership positions. He holds a Bachelor of Electrical/Computer Engineering from McMaster University and an MBA from Schulich School of Business at York University, specializing in Supply Chain Management.

Usman reports directly to the Head of Procurement and Category Management.

In 2019, the Materials and Procurement Department (M&P) began a re-organization that split the group into two departments: Materials Management and Procurement and Category Management. M&P continues to make significant progress with its transformation and our senior procurement team is now as follows:

Effective on March 16, staff listed above in bold will be moving from Hillcrest to their new offices at North York Centre, 9-5140 Yonge St. (above North York Centre Station).

The remainder of the department will be moving to the new consolidated warehouse facility at 2233 Sheppard Ave. W. by the end of Q3 2020. 

Please note staff currently on temporary leave: Renata Wojteczko, Director – Procurement, Capital; Carrie Wong – Category Manager; and Franca Beltrano – Category Manager.
