Changes in Transit Control and Streetcar Transportation

We are pleased to announce that Albert Oliver has assumed the role of Head of Transit Control (acting) within the Operations Group, effective Sunday, April 28, 2019.

Albert joined the TTC in 2002 as a Subway Operator, and has progressed through the organization to his most recent position as the Head of Streetcar Transportation. During his 17-year transit career, Albert has held several supervisory and management positions at the TTC, including roles in Employee Relations, Subway Transportation, Bus Transportation and Streetcar Transportation. Albert will lead the Transit Control Centre as we integrate Bus, Streetcar and Subway operations into one unified, integrated centre. At the same time, he will help ensure we maintain absolute focus on delivering daily service to our 1.7 million daily customers.

We would like to acknowledge the contributions of Andrew Dixon, who has assumed his role as Head of Operations Training Centre, after four months as Acting Head of Transit Control. Thank you for your leadership, Andrew.

As a result of Albert’s move to Transit Control, Erin Wemyss is assuming the role of Head of Streetcar Transportation (acting), effective Sunday, April 28, 2019. Erin began her career at the TTC in 2005 as a Streetcar Operator at Russell Division, progressively taking on more responsibility in supervisory and management roles in Streetcar Transportation and Bus Transportation. Erin was most recently Manager of the TTC’s Roncesvalles Division.

Please join us in congratulating and welcoming Albert to his new position at Transit Control, and to Erin in her role at Streetcar Transportation, and extend your continued co-operation and support to them both in their new roles.
