Changes in Commission Services and Customer Communications
To better meet the needs of the organization, there will be a re-alignment of the services provided by the Commission Services Department.
The TTC is required to adhere to various forms of legislation at the municipal, provincial and federal levels. In addition, there is also corporate legislation regulating many of the TTC’s administrative functions. The Commission Services Department has had long-standing oversight of some key corporate legislative functions, including management of the TTC Board meeting process, Freedom of Information/Privacy and Information Management.
As a further step in the re-alignment of the Chief of Staff Office, and to provide for improved independence and consultation in the performance of these legislative functions, effective January 1, 2020, the Secretariat Services and Freedom of Information units of the Commission Services Department will be transferred to report to the TTC Legal Department. The corporate mail service will be transferred from the Commission Services Department and will be merged with the Print Services Section of the Customer Communications Department.
Service levels and staff contacts in these areas will not change. Staff currently working in Secretariat Services and Freedom of Information will remain in their current office locations at the McBrien Building.
These changes provide for a more practical and efficient alignment of functions within the TTC’s organizational structure.
