Starting on Sunday, June 20, the TTC will be making the following service adjustments:

Major Service Changes

Service adjustments will be made on many routes in response to changing ridership due to the pandemic. Routes with lower ridership will have service levels reduced, and some routes with increasing ridership will have service levels improved. These changes will reflect the new guidelines for planning crowding approved in the 2021 Annual Service Plan.

Service reliability improvements
The program for continuous monitoring and improvement to schedules to better match observed operating conditions will result in new schedules for the following routes:

Construction projects beginning
> Wilson Station Lower construction.
> TTC and City track, water main, and streetscape work on Queen Street West – rolling street closures.
> Donlands Station – Easier Access construction.

Construction projects continuing
> York Mills Station bus terminal closure until September 2021.
> TTC and City construction at King-Queen-Queensway Roncesvalles, until December 2021.
> TTC overhead upgrades along the 501 Queen corridor, until December 2021.
> City road construction on Wellington Street, until September 2021.
> City water main and bridge construction on Cummer Avenue between Bayview and Leslie – 42 Cummer diverted in the westbound direction.

> Construction changes for 504Q King extending to Princes’ Gate Loop.
> Donlands Station – Easier Access construction (56 Leaside and 83 Jones).

Service Changes – Subway

Line 2 Bloor-Danforth

Effective date: June 20, 2021
Service will be reduced in all periods on Saturday and Sunday to better reflect customer demand.

Service Changes – Bus

Wilson Station bus terminal construction
> Routing change
Customer impact: Major
Effective date: June 20, 2021
Construction will begin at Wilson Station lower level to rehabilitate the bus terminal driveway and surrounding area. As a result, access to the lower bus terminal will be closed and bus routes will need to be diverted to a temporary bus loop located on the east side of Wilson Station, off of Wilson Heights Boulevard. The bus routes that will operate to the temporary terminal will be: 29 Dufferin, 929 Dufferin Express, 104 Faywood and 160 Bathurst North. The routes that will remain in the main terminal (upper level) will be 96 Wilson, 996 Wilson Express, 118 Thistle Down, 119 Torbarrie, 120 Calvington and 165 Weston Rd North. There will be no change to the scheduled service levels on these routes. Construction is expected to last until late 2021.

Donlands Station – Easier Access construction – Bus Bay impacts

Effective date: May 2021 to April 2022
Construction will start at Donlands Station for the Easier Access project. The bus terminal will be closed for approximately one year. The 56 Leaside and 83 Jones bus routes will divert from the station. 83 Jones will serve a nearside stop at Donlands and Danforth. The 56 Leaside will pick up at a new stop in front of Donlands Station.

5 Avenue Rd to 13 Avenue Rd

Effective date: June 20, 2021
The route number for this route will change to 13 Avenue Rd. This is in anticipation of future rapid transit coming into service in 2022 that will require a change to route numbers on the network.

6 Bay to 19 Bay

Effective date: June 20, 2021
The route number for this route will change to 19 Bay. This is in anticipation of future rapid transit coming into service in 2023 that will require a change to route numbers on the network. In response to lower ridership, service levels will also be reduced on weekends to better match scheduled capacity to ridership demand.

7 Bathurst

In response to lower ridership, service levels will be reduced in the early evening on Sunday and holidays to better match scheduled capacity to ridership demand.

12 Kingston Rd

Effective date: June 20, 2021
In response to lower ridership, service levels will be reduced weekdays during the peak periods and early evening. Service will also be reduced Saturday morning and Sunday daytime to better match scheduled capacity to ridership demand. Additionally, schedules will be adjusted on the 12D (Victoria Park Stn-U of T Scarborough) branch Monday to Friday to improve service reliability.

17 Birchmount

In response to lower ridership, service levels will be reduced in the morning peak period and early evening from Monday to Friday, and in the morning on Saturday, to better match scheduled capacity to ridership demand. Additionally, Saturday schedules will be adjusted to improve service reliability.

21 Brimley

In response to lower ridership, service levels will be reduced on Monday to Friday in the peak periods and early evening. Scheduled service levels will also be reduced in the afternoon on weekends to better match scheduled capacity to ridership demand.

22 Coxwell

Effective date: June 20, 2021
The schedules on this route will be adjusted to improve service reliability. In response to lower ridership, service levels will be reduced in the early evening on Saturday to better match scheduled capacity to ridership demand. With the reopening of the Toronto Zoo and later closing times, evening service to and from the Zoo will be operated as a shuttle to Meadowvale Loop. Customers visiting the Zoo after 7 p.m. may transfer between this service and 85 Sheppard East at Meadowvale Loop.

86 Scarborough

Customer impact: Minor
Effective date: June 20, 2021
With the reopening of the Toronto Zoo, service to the Zoo will operate as a shuttle between Toronto Zoo and Meadowvale Loop, all days of the week to meet the later closing times. Monday-to-Wednesday service will be extended to 8 p.m. Service on Thursdays and Fridays will operate until 10 p.m. Saturday service to the Zoo will be extended to 10 p.m., and Sunday service will be extended to 8 p.m.

89 Weston

353 Steeles
> Additional service connection – Amazon Fulfillment Centre
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: June 20, 2021
Scheduled service will be operated everyday between Steeles Avenue and Markham Road and the Amazon Fulfillment Centre, from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m., Monday to Saturday, and from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Sundays. Customers can connect from 353 Steeles to this service at Steeles and Markham, and at Steeles and Tapscott.

Service Changes – Streetcar

501/301 Queen
> Queen Street West rolling closures begin – TTC/City construction
Customer impact: Major
Effective date: June 20, 2021
Rolling full street closures along Queen Street West will start as TTC and City track, water main and streetscape improvement work begins between Bay Street and Fennings Street. Buses will divert along streets parallel to Queen, when it is required. Customers should regularly visit ttc.ca for information regarding diversionary routings.

504/304 King

Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: June 20, 2021
Schedules on the 504G King (Dundas West Stn-Roncesvalles Yard) and 504Q King (Triller-Princes’ Gates) replacement bus services will be adjusted to improve service reliability. 304Q King (Triller-Strachan) overnight replacement buses will be removed. Overnight service will be provided every 30 minutes by existing 304 King (Triller-Broadview Stn) and 304G King (Dundas West Stn-Roncesvalles Yard) buses. There will be no changes to 504 King (Dufferin Gate-Distillery) streetcars or 504D King (Broadview Stn-Parliament) replacement buses.

306 Carlton
> Overnight service reduction
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: June 20, 2021
Service will be reduced in the overnight period to every 30 minutes. This change will re-align service levels on 306 Carlton with the rest of the overnight streetcar routes.
