May Board Period Service Changes

Due to COVID-19, March Board Period schedules will be extended into the May Board Period starting on Sunday, May 10, with the following exceptions:

Scheduled subway service reductions in response to reduced ridership demand
> Line 1 Yonge-University and Line 2 Bloor-Danforth will operate on reduced headways Monday-Friday, to a maximum of every six minutes

Typical seasonal service increases to the Toronto Zoo, Cherry Beach, Bluffer’s Park, Ontario Place, Woodbine Beach and the Harbourfront are deferred until physical distancing measures are lifted:
> 85 Sheppard East – no extended weekend service to Toronto Zoo
> 86 Scarborough – no extended service to Toronto Zoo
> 92 Woodbine South – no increase to weekend seasonal service
> 121 Fort York-Esplanade – no service to Cherry Beach and Ontario Place
> 175 Bluffers Park – no service to Bluffer’s Park

Construction projects beginning, diversions operated on a divisional level
> Bathurst Street bridge rehabilitation – Bathurst Street closed south of Front will impact service on 307 Bathurst and 511 Bathurst

> Kennedy Station Elevator Overhaul Project until August 2020
> Bus roadway rehabilitation at Sheppard West Station until April 2021
> Keele Station Easier Access construction until September 2020
> Runnymede Station Easier Access construction until late 2020
> McNicoll Garage impacting the 42 Cummer until November 2020
> City construction on Wellington Street until December 2020
> Roncesvalles Carhouse renovation continues until December 2020
> Roncesvalles Carhouse partial reopening - January to December 2020
> Line 3 Scarborough - Vehicle Rehab - January to September 2020
> MX Eglinton LRT Construction (Existing) - January to December 2020
> MX Eglinton LRT Construction - RAD buses - January to December 2020
> MX Finch West LRT Construction - January to December 2020
> City Construction at Six Points - January to December 2020

Service Changes – Subway

1 Yonge-University
> Service reduction
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: May 11, 2020
Service will be reduced on Line 1 to respond to lower ridership demand. Service will operate every three-to-four minutes during daytime and early evening, and every five minutes in the late evening. The short-turn Glencairn branch will be temporarily suspended.

2 Bloor-Danforth
> Service reduction
Customer impact: Moderate
Effective date: May 11, 2020
Service will be reduced on Line 2 to respond to lower ridership demand. Service will operate every three-to-four minutes during the daytime, and every six minutes during the evening.

Service Changes – Bus

307 Bathurst
> City construction continues – Bathurst Street Bridge Rehabilitation
Customer impact: Major
Effective date: May 10, 2020 to end of 2020
City construction to rehabilitate the Bathurst Street bridge between Front Street and Fort York Boulevard will require the closure of the bridge to vehicular traffic. Pedestrian access will be maintained. As a result, 307 Bathurst buses will divert in both directions via Front Street, Spadina Avenue and Fort York Boulevard. The diversion will be operated on a divisional level.

511 Bathurst
>City construction continues – Bathurst Street Bridge Rehabilitation
Customer impact: Major
Effective date: May 10, 2020 to end of 2020
City construction to rehabilitate the Bathurst Street bridge between Front Street and Fort York Boulevard will require the closure of the bridge to vehicular traffic. Pedestrian access will be maintained. As a result, 511 Bathurst buses will divert in both directions via Front Street, Spadina Avenue and Fort York Boulevard. The diversion will be operated on a divisional level.
