The TTC is on the move with news for you9/7/12 6:00 AM
Welcome to this, the inaugural page of Toronto Moves.
Each Friday, the Toronto Transit Commission will have a single page in your Metro News, sharing important need-to-know, as well as nice-to-know, information with you, our customer.
This is an exciting partnership between the TTC and Metro News and is a further step in our push to make the TTC more open about the way it does things. It is part of an emerging five-year plan that will transform our performance and deliver higher-quality services that make you feel valued.
As Toronto’s leading commuter newspaper, Metro News recognizes the value of providing you with information to make your TTC experience a more enjoyable one.
From learning about weekend events and how to best get there by public transit, to changes to service, to future improvements and enhancements to your TTC, this page will bring it all to you here, and online.
But we want to hear from you, too. In future editions, we’ll answer reader and customer questions. We’ll make sure you know how to contact us, whether it’s to share a concern, an employee compliment, how to plan an outing using our Internet Trip Planner, or how to get up-to-the-minute information about TTC service.
For our first edition, we introduce you to a TTC employee whose quick actions and superb training may well have prevented serious injury, or worse, back on Aug. 20. We also explain the importance of the Student Photo I.D., including post-secondary students, and why it’s important to always have it with you when paying your discounted fare. We’ll also share quick facts about the TTC that you may not have known.
