Early Morning Drop Shaft Demolition Work, Keele Street between Toro Road and Finch Avenue West, July 4 – 18, 2016

Demolition of the drop shafts on Keele Street, south of Finch Avenue West, continues on Monday, July 4, 2016 beginning at 6 a.m. and will continue intermittently until Monday, July 18, 2016. Construction work includes demolition of the concrete walls of the drop shafts using a heavy chipper, which may be noisy.

Please use extra care and reduce your speed while driving through construction zones.

Noise and Vibration

Noise and vibration is expected during the demolition of the drop shaft walls. Your continued patience is greatly appreciated.

Work Hours:

The City of Toronto has approved a noise by-law amendment for major transit projects which allows contractors to perform overnight and weekend work for the duration of the project, when required, to minimize impact on the local community. Extended work hours are expected to occur in the Keele/Finch area.
