Early Morning Concrete Pour for Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station, May 8, 2014
May 6, 2014
On Thursday, May 8, 2014, there will be an early morning concrete pour beginning at 5 a.m. for the future Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Subway Station. The concrete pour is on the north side of the construction site between Highway 7 and Portage Parkway west of Jane Street and will last approximately 12 hours from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are no lane restrictions associated with the work and all work will be contained within the construction site.
During this concrete pour there will be some construction noise related to construction vehicles backing-up. Construction vehicles will enter and exit the site from the gate at Portage Parkway and Millway Avenue. Every effort will be made by the contractor to minimize construction noise.
Motorists please obey all signs and slow down through this construction zone.
Work Hours
The work will occur on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The City of Vaughan has approved a noise by-law amendment which allows the contractor to perform overnight and weekend work when required to minimize long term disruption and to keep the project on schedule.
This work is weather dependant and therefore the date is subject to change.
Motorists
Please use extra care when travelling on Portage Parkway at Millway Avenue and Highway 7 between Interchange Way and Jane Street.
