Excavation Resumes in Early March 2014 at York University Subway Station Site

Excavation work was postponed due to poor weather and will now resume at the York University Station site on March 3, 2014. The excavation work is anticipated to last for three months and will involve the use of a drill rig for two weeks. The excavation area is known as the “Light Scoop” which is shown on the graphic below.
Construction work includes:
- Excavation and drilling will begin in early March 2014. A drill rig will be used for two weeks while the excavation work will take approximately three months. During the drill rig work there will be increased construction noise from the auger as it shakes off soil or debris during the drilling process.
Noise and Vibration Monitoring:
- Noise and vibration monitors are installed in key locations on and near the construction site to record noise and vibration levels.
Work Hours:
- Construction activities will normally run from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
As construction continues at the York University Station Site, construction related notices will be issued.
