Weekend Work on Keele Street South of Finch Avenue West March 24th and 25th 2012

Construction continues on Keele Street from Finch Avenue West to Toro Road on a portion of work associated with the construction of the southern tunnels. Construction work this weekend includes dewatering activities in the extraction shaft. During the work, there may be construction related noise from trucks and dewatering equipment.
Work Hours
- Dewatering activities will run this weekend March 24th and 25th, 2012 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The City of Toronto normal working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. However, the City of Toronto has approved a noise by-law amendment for major transit projects which allows contractors to perform overnight and weekend work for the duration of the project, when required, to minimize impact on the local community. Extended work hours are expected to occur in the Keele/Finch area.
- Finch West Station construction work is permitted from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., 7 days per week.
- Tunnel construction using Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs), and related activities including excavation is permitted 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, for safety and efficiency purposes.
