Overnight Lane Restrictions Rescheduled on Westbound Steeles Avenue West East of Jane Street from December 27th and 28th

Beginning nightly on Thursday, December 27th and Friday, December 28th, Steeles Avenue West will be restricted to one lane westbound from Founders Road to Northwest Gate for work associated with excavation. Work will commence at 7:00 p.m. each night and the second westbound lane will reopen at 5:00 a.m. the next morning. Two lanes will remain open eastbound and one lane will remain open westbound at all times. Due to the nature of the work, motorists and transit users may face traffic delays.

Work scheduled between December 19th and 22nd has been cancelled.

This work is weather permitting and could be rescheduled for a later date.

Paid duty officers will be on Steeles Avenue West directing traffic during the lane restrictions.

Pedestrian Access

A new sidewalk is open on the north side of Steeles Avenue West from west of Founders Road to east of Murray Ross Parkway. The sidewalk on the south side of Steeles Avenue West at Northwest Gate is now closed. Pedestrians please use the sidewalk on the north side of Steeles Avenue West.

Steeles Avenue West Speed Limit Update

Paid duty officers will be on Steeles Avenue West directing traffic during the lane restrictions. Please be advised that the speed limit has been reduced on Steeles Avenue West between Jane Street and Keele Street to 50 kilometres an hour and will be strictly enforced by Toronto Police.
