Update: Subway Construction Activities at York University - Equipment Removed from Accident Site
October 31, 2011
Over this past weekend the mast of the damaged drilling machine was successfully removed from the accident site adjacent the Schulich Building. The affected wing of the Schulich Building is now open. Details of the reopening of the building are available from the University. The accident site, directly north of the Schulich Building, will remain closed under order of the Ministry of Labour (MoL).
The section of York Boulevard between James Gillies Street and Ian Macdonald Boulevard will remain closed until such time as the remaining equipment in the accident site can be removed, subject to acceptance by the MoL. Buses will continue to use alternative routing.
The Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension (TYSSE) Project Information Centre, located in York Lanes, has been reopened and will be staffed during the posted times.
