Spadina Road and Lowther Avenue - field testing
Continuing as early as February 4, 2019
TTC’s Easier Access Program will make subway stations accessible to everyone, regardless of their level of mobility. The TTC is making progress towards its goal of making Spadina Station on Line 1 accessible.
Work description and purpose
Starting as early as the week of February 4, crews will be conducting daily test hole assessments at the Spadina Road and Lowther Avenue intersection, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. This work is expected to take a week or two once it begins.
The work involves drilling holes into the ground / roadway to map out and confirm existing utility locations. Previously, staff conducted field testing to obtain soil samples and data. All information gathered from these field tests are required for the design work of the future elevator project.
To create a safe work zone, lane and sidewalk restrictions may be required during work hours.
Work will generally take place during the daytime between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Thank you for your patience as we work to improve transit in Toronto.
