New PRESTO fare gates are being installed at stations across the TTC from now until mid-2017. See below for active PRESTO construction projects at TTC subway stations - organized alphabetically.

Details about new fare gates

  • Turnstiles will be removed and replaced with new, PRESTO-enabled fare gates.
  • The new gates will provide easier access and offer greater flexibility for flow of traffic into and out of stations.
  • Customers may also use cash, tickets, tokens and Metropasses, however, anyone paying by cash, tickets or tokens, must enter through the collector booth aisle at the main entrance.
  • Station ambassadors will be available to help direct customers into stations throughout construction.

Eglinton Station - main entrance

Work at the main entrance will be completed by early June 2017.

Start date: March 16

Expected completion: Early June 2017

Installation of new fare gates at this station will be completed in phases. Starting at 12:01 a.m. on March 16, the turnstiles on the east side of the collector booth will be closed. Customers will be able to enter the station from the west side of the collector booth. After the east side fare gates are installed and re-opened for customers, the west side will be closed until early June.


Lawrence Station - automatic entrance

Work at this automatic entrance will be completed by early May 2017.

Start date: March 13, 2017

Expected completion: Early May 2017

During this time, customers will be able to use the main entrance on Lawrence Avenue to access the station.


Leslie Station - Old Leslie automatic entrance

Work at this automatic entrance will be completed by mid-May 2017.

Start date: March 20, 2017

Expected completion: Mid-May 2017

The automatic entrance will be closed from 10 p.m. on March 20 until 6 a.m. on March 22. During this closure, customers will be able to access the station through the main entrance or through the Leslie Street automatic entrance.

From March 22 until mid-May, customers will be able to access the Old Leslie entrance through a temporary collector aisle beside the construction hoarding.


Midland Station - automatic entrance

Work at this automatic entrance will be completed by early May 2017.

Start date: March 16, 2017

Expected completion: Early May 2017

The automatic entrance will be closed from 10 p.m. on March 16 until 6 a.m. on March 18. After the entrance re-opens on March 18, customers will be able to access this entrance through a temporary collector aisle beside the construction hoarding.


Victoria Park Station - Teesdale Place entrance

Start date: March 22, 2017

Expected completion: Mid-May 2017

During this time, customers will be able to use the main entrance or the Albion Avenue entrances to access the station. The outdoor walkway to the main entrance will be maintained.


Wilson Station - automatic entrance

Work at this automatic entrance will be completed by early May 2017.

Start date: January 6, 2017

Expected completion: Early May 2017

During this time, customers will be able to use the main entrance on Wilson Avenue to access the station.
