Ossington Station - roof rehabilitation
Construction until the end of December 2019
The TTC will be conducting roof repairs at Ossington Station. During this project, the station will remain open and service will be maintained.
What to expect
Starting the week of August 4, work crews will create a safe work zone and start installing guard rails along the perimeter of the roof in preparation of roof rehabilitation. The work will include the removal and installation of new roof flashings along the roof wall, removal of the old roof material and application of new roof material.
For the safety of customers using Ossington Station, material deliveries from TTC’s roof supplier will be conducted between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. multiple times during the course of the project. Some supplies will be stored on the roof.
Odour
The traditional method of liquid asphalt application (asphalt kettle) is not being used. The roofing system used is a 3-ply membrane applied with heat and produces less odour.
Dust and debris disposal
Dust will be controlled as much as possible. A fenced off area will be erected on the west side of Ossington Station for some material storage and disposal. All access to the roof will be from the north side of the station.
Work hours
Work will typically take place during regular daytime hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and may extend to 8 p.m. if needed. Delivery of materials/supplies will occur between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m.
TTC service
Transit service at the station will be maintained.
