Work description and purpose

The TTC has been conducting roof repairs at High Park Station. As work at the main station nears completion, crews will be moving to the second entrance/exit on Parkview Gardens at the beginning of September to conduct repairs. During this work, the entrance will remain open and service at the station will be maintained.

While the majority of the work will be conducted during the day, one or two overnight shifts will be required for safety when conducting activities on the edge of each roof, including:

  • installing and removing guard rails with hand tools
  • removing and installing new roof flashings

Noise will be kept to a minimum as best as possible.

Odour

The traditional method of liquid asphalt application (asphalt kettle) is not being used at this location. The roofing system used is a 3-ply heat application; therefore odour will be less.

Dust and debris disposal

Dust will be controlled as much as possible. A refuse container will be placed in different areas when work is being conducted, including near the Parkview Gardens entrance.

Work hours

Work will typically take place during regular daytime hours of 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and may extend to 7 p.m. if needed. Some overnight work will also be required to ensure the safety of workers and customers when working on the edge of the roof.
