116 Morningside

The 116 Morningside bus route operates between Kennedy Station on the Bloor-Danforth Subway, the area of Morningside Avenue and Old Finch Avenue, the University of Toronto at Scarborough campus, and the area of Conlins Road and Ellesmere Road, generally in an east-west direction.  Accessible service is provided on the route.  Kennedy Station is an accessible subway station. Bike racks are available on this route.

Three services are operated.  The 116 (Kennedy Stn- Finch) is the main branch, and operates at all times, seven days a week.  The 116A (Kennedy Stn-Conlins Rd via Ellesmere) branch operates during the peak periods, midday, and early evening from Monday to Friday, WESTBOUND-ONLY before 12:00 noon, and EASTBOUND-ONLY after 12:00 noon.  The 116E (Kennedy Stn-U of T Scarborough and Conlins Rd EXPRESS) branch operates during the peak periods, midday, and early evening from Monday to Friday, EASTBOUND-ONLY before 12:00 noon, and WESTBOUND-ONLY after 12:00 noon.

Eastbound 116 TO FINCH
These buses operate from Kennedy Station via east on Eglinton Avenue East, northeast on Kingston Road, south and east on Guildwood Parkway, north on Morningside Avenue, east on Staines Road, north on Mantis Road, and west Nightstar Road to Morningside Avenue.

Westbound 116 TO KENNEDY STN
These buses operate from Nightstar Road and Morningside Avenue via south on Morningside Avenue, west and north on Guildwood Parkway, southwest on Kingston Road, and west on Eglinton Avenue East to Kennedy Station.

Eastbound 116E TO EXPRESS TO U OF T SCARBOROUGH AND CONLINS RD/Westbound 116A TO KENNEDY STN
Before 12:00 noon, eastbound “116E EXPRESS TO U OF T SCARBOROUGH AND CONLINS RD” buses operate from Kennedy Station via east on Eglinton Avenue East, northeast on Kingston Road, north on Morningside Avenue, east on Ellesmere Road, and southeast on Military Trail to University of Toronto at Scarborough Loop (on the south side of Military Trail, south of Ellesmere Road), then continuing northwest on Military Trail, east on Ellesmere Road, north on Conlins Road, east on Canmore Boulevard, and south on Morrish Road to Ellesmere Road.  Eastbound 116E buses operate EXPRESS from Kennedy Station to University of Toronto at Scarborough Loop, stopping only at Eglinton Avenue and Markham Road, Morningside Avenue and Ellesmere Road, and at University of Toronto at Scarborough Loop;  116E buses then operate LOCAL from University of Toronto at Scarborough Loop to Morrish Road and Ellesmere Road.  These eastbound 116E buses then return westbound as “116A TO KENNEDY STN” buses, operating LOCAL from Morrish Road and Ellesmere Road via west on Ellesmere Road, northwest on Military Trail, south on Morningside Avenue, west and north on Guildwood Parkway, southwest on Kingston Road, and west on Eglinton Avenue East to Kennedy Station.

Westbound 116E TO EXPRESS TO KENNEDY STN/Eastbound 116A TO CONLINS RD VIA ELLESMERE
After 12:00 noon, westbound “116E EXPRESS TO KENNEDY STN” buses operate from Morrish Road and Ellesmere Road via west on Ellesmere Road, southeast on Military Trail to University of Toronto at Scarborough Loop, continuing northwest on Military Trail, south on Morningside Avenue, southwest on Kingston Road, and west on Eglinton Avenue East to Kennedy Station.  Westbound 116E buses operate LOCAL from Morrish Road and Ellesmere Road to Morningside Avenue and Kingston Road;  116E buses then operate EXPRESS from Morningside Avenue and Kingston Road to Kennedy Station, stopping only at Eglinton Avenue and Markham Road.  These westbound 116E buses then return eastbound as “116A TO CONLINS RD VIA ELLESMERE” buses, operating LOCAL from Kennedy Station via east on Eglinton Avenue East, northeast on Kingston Road, south and east on Guildwood Parkway, north on Morningside Avenue, east on Ellesmere Road, north on Conlins Road, east on Canmore Boulevard, and south on Morrish Road to Ellesmere Road.

All 116 and 116A buses on the route serve local bus stops along the route.  Before 12:00 noon, the eastbound 116E EXPRESS buses serve local bus stops eastbound from University of Toronto at Scarborough Loop only; after 12:00 noon, the westbound 116E EXPRESS buses serve local bus stops westbound to Morningside Avenue and Kingston Road only.
