TTC holds annual Accessible Transit Forum tonight
December 13, 2018
The TTC holds its annual Public Forum on Accessible Transit tonight.
Customers have the opportunity to address TTC staff and members of the TTC’s Advisory Committee on Accessible Transit (ACAT) on TTC accessibility issues and Wheel-Trans services.
Updates from staff include:
- TTC’s Easier Access Program
- Wheel-Trans 10-Year Transformation Strategy
- Family of Services
Forty-five of the TTC’s 75 subway stations are now accessible, with more stations being added every year. All buses are accessible and the TTC now has 115 new-low floor streetcars in service. Every streetcar route will be accessible by 2019 with full system accessibility by 2025.
Date: Tonight, Thurs., Dec. 13, 2018
Time: One-on-One Discussions 6-7 p.m.
Public forum: 7-9 p.m.
Location: Metro Toronto Convention Centre, North Building, Rooms 205/206 - 255 Front St.
The closest subway station to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre is Union Station, which is accessible.
Wheel-Trans customers can book their trips on-line at mywheel-trans.ttc.ca, calling Wheel-Trans, 416-393-4222 or the Family of Services line, 416-397-5852. Assistance in planning a trip using the conventional TTC is available by calling 416-393-4636.
Due to the high volume of customers attending this event, return trips will be organized after the event finishes at 9 p.m. and will not be scheduled in advance.
Attendants, ASL and captioning will be available. For those unable to attend, the forum will be streamed live at https://www.meetview.com/ttc20181213/ (pre-registration is necessary). Customers can also join the conversation on Twitter using the hashtag #TTCAccess.
