This month, the TTC is featuring a Leslieville mural on the Metropass for May. On sale through Sat., May 5, this month’s pass features an iconic Canadian image of a maple tree and songwriter, Alexander Muir.

When designing the mural, artists Elicser Elliott and Sight One, were inspired by the maple leaf and Alexander Muir's song, "The Maple Leaf Forever," which almost became the Canadian national anthem. Muir is said to have written the song in the area now known as Leslieville, in the park adjacent to the artwork.

This month’s Metropass is part of a 2018 series that features images of different distinctly Toronto murals from GTA neighbourhoods.

Metropasses are available for purchase at collector booths and participating TTC fare agents and are $146.25 for adults and $116.75 for seniors (65+), students (13-19) and post-secondary students with valid ID.

The TTC reminds customers that monthly passes for adults and seniors are also available on PRESTO at the same prices.
