COVID-19 Update: Positive tests

January 2: The first employee is a Subway Operator who works at Wilson Division. The individual developed symptoms on December 28. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on January 1, 2021. The individual last reported to work on December 28, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second employee is a Carhouse Operator who works at Greenwood Carhouse. The individual is asymptomatic. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on January 1, 2021. The individual last reported to work on December 30, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The third employee is a Bus Operator who works at Malvern Division. The individual developed symptoms on December 26. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on December 30, 2020. The individual last reported to work on December 26, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

January 1: The individual works at Head Office. The individual developed symptoms December 29, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on December 31, 2020. The individual last reported to work on December 24, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

December 31: The individual works at Eglinton Division. The individual is asymptomatic. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on December 31, 2020. The individual last reported to work on December 26, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

December 30: The first employee is a Dispatcher who works in the Rail Cars and Shops Department. The individual developed symptoms on December 24. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on December 28, 2020. The individual last reported to work on December 22, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second employee is a Communications Technician who works at Hillcrest. The individual developed symptoms on December 26. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on December 29, 2020. The individual last reported to work on December 16, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The third employee is a Vehicle Repairperson who works at Greenwood Carhouse. The individual developed symptoms on December 29. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on December 29, 2020. The individual last reported to work on December 26, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The fourth employee is a Customer Service Ambassador who works in the Stations Department. The individual developed symptoms on December 27. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on December 30, 2020. The individual last reported to work on December 16, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The fifth individual works at Lakeshore Division. The individual developed symptoms on December 26. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on December 30, 2020. The individual last reported to work on December 25, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

December 29: The first employee is a Communication Technician who works at Hillcrest. The individual developed symptoms on December 18. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on December 24, 2020. The individual last reported to work on December 18, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second individual is works in the ATC Project Group. The individual developed symptoms on December 14. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 December 25, 2020. The individual last reported to work on December 12, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The third employee is a Bus Operator who works at Wilson Division. The individual developed symptoms on December 25. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on December 29, 2020. The individual last reported to work on December 24, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The fourth individual is works in the Revenue Operations Department. The individual developed symptoms on December 28. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on December 29, 2020. The individual last reported to work on December 24, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The fifth employee is a Subway Operator who works at Wilson Division. The individual developed symptoms on December 25. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on December 29, 2020. The individual last reported to work on December 25, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

December 28: The first employee is an Assistant Foreperson who works in the Subway Infrastructure Department. The individual developed symptoms on December 24. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on December 27, 2020. The individual last reported to work on December 22, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second employee is an Instructor who works in the Operations Training Centre. The individual developed symptoms on December 26. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on December 28, 2020. The individual last reported to work on December 18, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

December 27: The employee is an Operations Supervisor who works at Leslie Barns Division. The individual is asymptomatic. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on December 27, 2020. The individual last reported to work on December 23, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

Following TPH guidance on case and contact management, the TTC is assessing whether there were any close contacts with the individual while contagious, requiring self-isolation.

The TTC takes safety very seriously and considers the health and well-being of TTC employees of utmost importance. The TTC will continue to report information about positive diagnoses and publish the information on the TTC COVID-19 case update page on the TTC website at: http://www.ttc.ca/Riding_the_TTC/Safety_and_Security/Case_update.jsp. To date, 60 employees have returned to work since testing positive.

Please note, priority access is now available for TTC employees who are essential frontline workers or are required to support frontline work and are also exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19. If you develop new or worsening symptoms consistent with COVID-19 (see link above) or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, stay home and contact Occupational Health at 416-393-4572 or OHEW@ttc.ca to be connected with a Disability Management Specialist (DMS). If you are eligible for testing, your DMS will provide you with a letter from Toronto Public Health recommending priority testing.

Important reminder: Safety notices advise employees with concerns about their personal health to contact their family doctor or Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000. Toronto Public Health has also set up a coronavirus hotline that provides the public with a place to get information, ask questions about this virus and connect with a health professional at 416-338-7600.
