COVID-19 Update: Positive tests

The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, February 27, 2021. The individual last reported to work on February 24, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second individual is a contractor who works at Arrow Road Garage. The individual developed symptoms on February 18. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on February 22, 2021. The individual last reported to work on February 18, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

February 26: The first employee is a Radio Technician who works in the Plant Maintenance Department. The individual developed symptoms on February 23. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, February 26, 2021. The individual last reported to work on February 23, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second employee is a Customer Service Ambassador who works in the Stations Department. The individual developed symptoms on February 23. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, February 25, 2021. The individual last reported to work on February 23, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The third employee works at the Transit Control Centre. The individual developed symptoms on February 23. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, February 26, 2021. The individual last reported to work on February 21, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

February 25: The first employee works at Mount Dennis Garage. The individual developed symptoms on February 23. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, February 25, 2021. The individual last reported to work on February 18, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second employee is an Instructor who works in the Operations Training Centre. The individual developed symptoms on February 23. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, February 25, 2021. The individual last reported to work on February 23, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The third employee is a Bus Operator who works at Arrow Road Division. The individual developed symptoms on January 19. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on February 15, 2021. The individual last reported to work on January 13, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The fourth employee is a Serviceperson who works in the Stations Department. The individual developed symptoms on February 21. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, February 25, 2021. The individual last reported to work on February 21, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

February 24: The first employee works at Harvey Shop. The individual is asymptomatic. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, February 23, 2021. The individual last reported to work on February 22, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second employee is a Bus Operator who works at Mount Dennis Division. The individual is asymptomatic. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, February 24, 2021. The individual last reported to work on February 22, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.\

February 23: The first employee works in the Plant Maintenance Department. The individual developed symptoms on February 21. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, February 22, 2021. The individual last reported to work on February 18, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second employee is a Special Constable who works in the Special Constable Service. The individual developed symptoms on February 19. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, February 23, 2021. The individual last reported to work on February 18, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The third employee is an Instructor who works in the Operations Training Centre. The individual developed symptoms on February 21. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, February 23, 2021. The individual last reported to work on February 19, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The fourth individual is an Employee who works at Harvey Shop. The individual developed symptoms on February 21. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, February 23, 2021. The individual last reported to work on February 19, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The fifth individual is a contractor employee who works at Mount Dennis Garage. The individual developed symptoms on February 20. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, February 23, 2021. The individual last reported to work on February 19, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

February 21: The first employee is a Coach Technician who works at Arrow Road Garage. The individual developed symptoms on February 19. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, February 20, 2021. The individual last reported to work on February 18, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second employee works at Queensway Garage. The individual developed symptoms on February 18. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, February 21, 2021. The individual last reported to work on February 18, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The third employee is a Bus Operator who works at Birchmount Division. The individual developed symptoms on February 18. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, February 21, 2021. The individual last reported to work on February 18, 2021, and is currently self-isolating at home.

Following TPH guidance on case and contact management, the TTC is assessing whether there were any close contacts with the individual while contagious, requiring self-isolation.

The TTC takes safety very seriously and considers the health and well-being of TTC employees of utmost importance. The TTC will continue to report information about positive diagnoses and publish the information on the TTC COVID-19 case update page on the TTC website at: http://www.ttc.ca/Riding_the_TTC/Safety_and_Security/Case_update.jsp. To date, 60 employees have returned to work since testing positive.

Please note, priority access is now available for TTC employees who are essential frontline workers or are required to support frontline work and are also exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19. If you develop new or worsening symptoms consistent with COVID-19 (see link above) or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, stay home and contact Occupational Health at 416-393-4572 or OHEW@ttc.ca to be connected with a Disability Management Specialist (DMS). If you are eligible for testing, your DMS will provide you with a letter from Toronto Public Health recommending priority testing.

Important reminder: Safety notices advise employees with concerns about their personal health to contact their family doctor or Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000. Toronto Public Health has also set up a coronavirus hotline that provides the public with a place to get information, ask questions about this virus and connect with a health professional at 416-338-7600.
