COVID-19 Update: Positive tests

November 14: The first individual is an employee who works in the Materials Management Department at Duncan Shop. The individual developed symptoms on November 6, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, November 13, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 12, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second employee is a Bus Operator who works at Arrow Road Division. The individual developed symptoms on November 13, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, November 14, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 12, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

November 13: The first employee is a Low Floor Technician who works at Leslie Barns. The individual developed symptoms on November 8, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, November 12, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 7, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second employee is a Carhouse Operator who works at Greenwood Carhouse. The individual developed symptoms on October 20, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on October 27, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 17, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

November 12: The first individual is a Contractor who works in the IT Services Department. The individual has been working remotely since March, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on November 9, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 9, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home. 

The second employee is a Fare Inspector who works in the Revenue Protection Department. The individual developed symptoms on November 8, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, November 11, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 5, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The third employee is a Bus Operator who works at Arrow Road Division. The individual developed symptoms on November 6, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on November 9, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 6, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The fourth employee is a Bus Operator who works at Wilson Division. The individual developed symptoms on November 11, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, November 12, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 9, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The fifth employee is a Bus Operator who works at Wilson Division. The individual developed symptoms on November 9, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, November 12, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 8, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

November 11: The first employee is an Instructor who works in the Operations Training Centre. The individual developed symptoms on November 7 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, November 10, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 6, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second individual is an employee who works in Revenue Operations. The individual developed symptoms on November 5, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, November 10, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 30, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The third employee is a Rail Vehicle Technician who works at Leslie Barns. The individual developed symptoms on November 7, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, November 10, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 5, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The fourth individual is an employee who works at Harvey Shop. The individual is asymptomatic. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, November 10, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 6, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The fifth individual is a Contractor who works in the Construction Department. The individual developed symptoms on November 6, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, November 11, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 2, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

November 10: The first employee is a Subway Operator who works at Wilson Division. The individual developed symptoms on November 7 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, November 9, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 6, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home. 

The second employee is a Bus Operator who works at Birchmount Division. The individual developed symptoms on November 6, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, November 10, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 6, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The third employee is a Bus Operator who works at Eglinton Division. The individual developed symptoms on November 5, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, November 10, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 4, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The fourth individual is an employee who works in the Engineering Department at the North York Centre. The individual developed symptoms on October 20, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on October 25, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 8, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

November 9: The first employee is a Bus Operator who works at Arrow Rd. Division. The individual developed symptoms on November 4, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, November 7, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 2, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home. 

The second individual is an employee in the ATC Projects Group. The individual developed symptoms on November 4, 2020, after completing their shift. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, November 9, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 4, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The third employee is a Bus Operator who works at Malvern Division. The individual developed symptoms on November 3, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, November 9, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 1, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The fourth employee is a Subway Operator who works at Danforth Division. The individual developed symptoms on November 5, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, November 9, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 4, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The fifth employee is a Carhouse Operator who works at Leslie Barns. The individual developed symptoms on November 6, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, November 9, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 5, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

November 8: The individual is an employee who works at Subway Electrical. The individual developed symptoms on November 5, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, November 8, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 5, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

Following TPH guidance on case and contact management, the TTC is assessing whether there were any close contacts with the individual while contagious, requiring self-isolation.

The TTC takes safety very seriously and considers the health and well-being of TTC employees of utmost importance. The TTC will continue to report information about positive diagnoses and publish the information on the TTC COVID-19 case update page on the TTC website at: http://www.ttc.ca/Riding_the_TTC/Safety_and_Security/Case_update.jsp. To date, 60 employees have returned to work since testing positive.

Please note, priority access is now available for TTC employees who are essential frontline workers or are required to support frontline work and are also exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19. If you develop new or worsening symptoms consistent with COVID-19 (see link above) or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, stay home and contact Occupational Health at 416-393-4572 or OHEW@ttc.ca to be connected with a Disability Management Specialist (DMS). If you are eligible for testing, your DMS will provide you with a letter from Toronto Public Health recommending priority testing.

Important reminder: Safety notices advise employees with concerns about their personal health to contact their family doctor or Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000. Toronto Public Health has also set up a coronavirus hotline that provides the public with a place to get information, ask questions about this virus and connect with a health professional at 416-338-7600.
