COVID-19 Update: Positive tests

November 7: The first employee is a Supervisor in the Stations Department. The individual developed symptoms on November 4, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, November 6, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 3, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second employee is a Subway Operator who works at Wilson Division. The individual developed symptoms on November 2, 2020, after completing their shift. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, November 7, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 2, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

November 6: The individual is a Contract Employee in the Closures and Diversions Department. The individual was asymptomatic. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, November 5, 2020. The individual last reported to work on November 2, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

November 5: The first employee is a Bus Operator who works at Arrow Road Division. The individual was asymptomatic. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on October 17, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 15, 2020, and has since returned to work after completing their self-isolation at home.

The second employee is an Instructor in the Training Department. The individual developed symptoms on November 5, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, November 5, 2020. The employee last reported to work on November 3, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

November 4: The first employee is a Bus Operator who works at Birchmount Division. The individual developed symptoms on October 31, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, November 3, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 31, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second person is a contract employee who works at Wilson Carhouse. The individual developed symptoms on October 31, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, November 3, 2020. The individual last reported to work on October 26, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The third employee is a Streetcar Operator who works at Leslie Barns Division. The individual developed symptoms on October 11, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on October 14, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 3, 2020, and has since returned to work after completing his self-isolation at home.

November 3: The first employee is a Wheel-Trans Operator who works at Wheel-Trans Division. The individual was asymptomatic. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 on October 15, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 7, 2020, and has since returned to work after completing his self-isolation at home.

The second employee is a Bus Operator who works at Queensway Division. The individual developed symptoms on October 30, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, November 3, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 29, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

November 2: The first employee is a Bus Operator who works at Wilson Division. The individual developed symptoms on October 31, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, November 2, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 30, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second employee is a General Body Repair Person who works at Eglinton Garage. The individual developed symptoms on October 29, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, November 2, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 29, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The third employee is a Bus Operator who works at Mount Dennis Division. The individual developed symptoms on October 30, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday, November 1, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 25, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The fourth employee is a Bus Operator who works at Mount Dennis Division. The individual developed symptoms on October 31, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, November 2, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 26, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

November 1: The first employee is a Subway Operator who works at Wilson Division. The individual developed symptoms on October 30, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, November 1, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 29, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home.

The second employee is a Rail Vehicle Technician who works at Leslie Barns. The individual developed symptoms on October 29, 2020. The individual tested positive for COVID-19 today, November 1, 2020. The employee last reported to work on October 29, 2020, and is currently self-isolating at home. 

Following TPH guidance on case and contact management, the TTC is assessing whether there were any close contacts with the individual while contagious, requiring self-isolation.

The TTC takes safety very seriously and considers the health and well-being of TTC employees of utmost importance. The TTC will continue to report information about positive diagnoses and publish the information on the TTC COVID-19 case update page on the TTC website at: http://www.ttc.ca/Riding_the_TTC/Safety_and_Security/Case_update.jsp. To date, 60 employees have returned to work since testing positive.

Please note, priority access is now available for TTC employees who are essential frontline workers or are required to support frontline work and are also exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19. If you develop new or worsening symptoms consistent with COVID-19 (see link above) or have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, stay home and contact Occupational Health at 416-393-4572 or OHEW@ttc.ca to be connected with a Disability Management Specialist (DMS). If you are eligible for testing, your DMS will provide you with a letter from Toronto Public Health recommending priority testing.

Important reminder: Safety notices advise employees with concerns about their personal health to contact their family doctor or Telehealth at 1-866-797-0000. Toronto Public Health has also set up a coronavirus hotline that provides the public with a place to get information, ask questions about this virus and connect with a health professional at 416-338-7600.
